Proverbs 1:2
2 To know [yada`] wisdom [chokmah] and instruction [muwcar];
to perceive [biyn] the words ['emer] of understanding [biynah]; KJV-Interlinear
2 To know wisdom and instruction, to
understand words of insight, ESV
The subject of the
book of Proverbs, is wisdom. Wisdom is the ultimate power by which a person
reaches his highest spiritual perfection, by which all other things are brought
into harmony with perfect perspective, and is personified by life-giving
discernment and creativity.
The purpose of the
Proverbs, and the purpose of the Bible, is to educate. To educate, so that a
person can know.
Instruction, is
the learning by training, combined with the self-discipline of a dedication
produced by a genuine desire to learn the ultimate truths of life.
Understanding, is
the ability to perceive and discern right from wrong, truth from false, real
from pretense.
All too often
people failed to achieve wisdom, because they never begin the process of
learning by means of instruction.
And that simply
means, it is impossible to understand or be oriented to life, when you do not
have a foundation of Bible doctrine within your soul.
Without doctrine
you have only pretense and invented truths, which are really falsehoods.
Without doctrine,
the only thing you can do is play games at impressing others who lack doctrine.
Which is to say, a fool, who fools, fools. And that is something that is not
worth boasting about.
The entire thrust
of the Bible, is to bring people to salvation through Christ, first of all, and
then secondly, to bring people to wisdom through instruction in doctrine.
The biggest and
only failure of an unbeliever, is to reject Christ.
The biggest
failure of the believer in Christ, is to refuse to learn, and therefore not
advance in their spiritual life. And the biggest embarrassment of the believer
in Christ, is to know that instruction and doctrine is available, but they
simply don’t pursue it.
These
studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org,
and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so
already, and therefore not be lost forever.
And
if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you
can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come
to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and
purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a
phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever. To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily
study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big
time.
The
Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human
history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to
complete yourself beyond your imagination.
But
you have to decide to make that commitment.
No one else can study for you.
You have to do that yourself.
