Psalm 37:33
33 The LORD [Y@hovah] will
not leave [`azab] him in his hand [yad], nor condemn [rasha`] him
when he is judged [shaphat]. KJV-Interlinear
33 The LORD will not abandon him to his
power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial. ESV
A common theme
that is presented in the Psalms, or in the Bible in general, is that faithful
believers are always under threat from the wicked.
The world in
general lacks fair play and justice for virtually everyone, but more
particularly for Christians.
This verse does
not guarantee absolute protection for the believer in this world. This is the
Devils world, and as such bad things are going to happen to everyone, regardless
of whether the person is good or bad, Christian or non-Christian.
What this verse
does guarantee, is that if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, which means you
are a Christian, then nothing in this world can take you away from God and the
eternal life that you possess.
This is eternal
security.
Once you belong to
God, then you are under his protection forever.
God will not
abandon you, or forsake you, or allow anything in this world to take you away
from His care.
The power of the
wicked, the power of the world, the power of wickedness and evil, are all one
and the same. And they hold no good thing for anyone, especially not for
believers in Christ.
The world is
presently under the rulership of Satan, and the only thing he wants is to defeat
Christ. So Satan and evil will do everything in their power to disrupt, to
destroy, to make life difficult for Christians.
So regardless of
the problems that you face in this life, and we will all face problems, the
heartaches that we suffer now, will only be temporary.
Jesus Christ
controls history. And our lives are in his hands, such that any and all trials
and tribulations and difficulties that we face in this world, will fail.
Our objective for
life in this world, is our preparation for the next life in eternity. And part
of our preparation is to experience problems, so that we can advance in our
spiritual life to maturity.
Whatever problems
you might face in life, remember one important thing. They will all come to an
end. And Christ in his grace and power and authority, will bring you into
eternity without a blemish or mark on you.
