Isaiah
30:11
11 Get you out [cuwr] of the way [derek], turn aside [natah] out of
the path ['orach], cause the Holy One [qadowsh] of Israel [Yisra'el] to
cease [shabath] from before [paniym] us. KJV-Interlinear
11 leave the way, turn aside from the path, let
us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.” ESV
Get out of the
way, is the common statement and complaint of those who view the teaching of
Bible doctrine as an endless and ceaseless stream of repetition, which they don’t
want to hear, and don’t want to be bothered with as far as their life is
concerned.
And what is odd,
is that even though they don’t want you in their way, they will think nothing
of placing themselves, in your way, just to let you know that they are not
interested in your beliefs, and that they believe that your beliefs are wrong.
One would think,
that people who are not interested in Christianity or Bible study, would simply
stay away from it and not get involved. But that is not the case.
Where there is
evil, and evil is the lack of truth or interest in truth, then there is the
ever present pressure to push back against truth and anything or anyone related
to it.
So as Isaiah
states here, negative people will go out of their way to tell the prophets, as
it was back in Isaiah’s day, or instructors, or teachers, or anyone who has
anything to do with the teaching or study of the word of God, that they want
them to go way, to turn aside, to teach them no more.
The holy one of
Israel, is a reference to the Messiah, the Savior, and the one we know as Jesus
Christ, who is all of these. But more than that, the holy one of Israel refers
to the entire content of the Bible, its teachings, its principles, its
precepts, it’s repetitive instruction.
And it is the
continuous repetition and exposure that really gets to them.
Anyone who has a
problem with repetition, has a problem with learning. Because that is the best
way of learning anything. And when you have a problem with learning, then you
simply will not advance in your life, especially your spiritual life.
Learning is our
best way of advancing, of realizing our mistakes and errors, of making
corrections and adjustments, and of moving forward. And anyone who does not
learn in any way, shape, or form, simply stagnates in life.
