Romans 5:9

9 Much [polus] more [mallon] then [oun], being [dikaioo] now [nun] justified [dikaioo] by [en] his [autos] blood [haima], we shall be saved [sozo] from [apo] wrath [orge] through [dia] him [autos].   KJV-Interlinear

9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.   ESV

Prior to our being saved, we as human beings had no value. We were useless and worthless, fit for nothing better than refuse or garbage, to be thrown away.

Prior to our salvation we were enemies of God. We were not family, we were not a part of His nation, we were not even friends of God.

But now, since Christ went to the cross and paid the ultimate price to purchase us out of sin and out of death, our value has skyrocketed to the value, that at the very least, is equal to that of the price paid by Christ. And since Christ paid an exorbitant or even an infinite price, then our value has risen to a value way off the charts.

We were purchased with his blood. The word blood is the symbolism for death. Christ did not bleed to death on the cross, he was very much alive when the price for sin was paid. But after his work had been completed, and after his spiritual death had already occurred, then he exhaled for the last time and died physically.

The spear which was thrust into his side, proved that he was already dead, and that he did not bleed to death.

Christ on the cross, and for three hours, from noon until 3 PM, while darkness covered the land and He screamed as the punishment for sin was being taken out on Him.

When that work was completed, daylight returned, and Christ said his final words and then died His physical death. And then immediately there was a massive earthquake which shook the foundations of the world.

His payment, of himself, was the maximum payment, and the highest value of payment, which could possibly be made. And when you pay a price for something, then that thing takes on the value of that price. And salvation is the most valuable thing in existence. And it was given to us for our acceptance and possession, merely by our faith.

No longer enemies, no longer strangers, no longer foreigners, no longer aliens, after we believe in Christ, then we become saved, family of God, firstborn sons, in union with Christ, nation of God, and joint heirs of eternity, and much, much more.

We then, have skyrocketed from a value of zero, to the value of infinity with the mere thought of faith in Jesus Christ.

This then is the most valuable possession that you can have. And that possession is a treasure worth guarding and protecting, and enhancing through spiritual growth. But that of course, requires your day to day decision to study the word of God through instruction, so that you can grow up in your spiritual life to spiritual maturity, and to complete yourself, and to fulfill your meaning and purpose that God has planned for you since eternity past.

To ignore such a phenomenal opportunity would make you the pool of fools.

To aggressively pursue such a phenomenal opportunity will make you the wisest of the wise.
