Romans 5:10

10 For if while we were
enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that
we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. ESV
This verse makes it very clear, that if God went to
such a great length to pay for our sins while we were enemies of God, then how
much more will He do for us now that we are family of God.
In eternity past, God drew up the plan, which we call
the divine decrees, and that was long before we even existed as human beings.
When Adam and Eve sinned and fell from grace, God gave
them the promise of a Savior.
About 4000 years passed by before Jesus was born into
this world, and went to the cross to purchase salvation for all of humanity.
There were a lot of generations that had come and gone
prior to the cross. And there have been a lot of generations that have come and
gone since the time of the cross. And, we’re still in the era of human history where
people are being born and living and dying. And that will continue until the
rapture occurs, and until the tribulation is completed, and throughout the
millennial reign of Christ.
Then and only then will human history come to an end
and the birth of new babies will cease.
God looked down through the tunnel of time since the
divine decrees, all the way to the end of human history, and saw every person
and every sin that would ever exist. And God laid out a plan that would save
all of humanity, which plan, called for the personal sacrifice of Christ in our
behalf.
And all of this while we were, as it were, enemies of
God.
So the rhetorical question being asked is, if God
would do all of that while we were enemies, then how much more would He do for
us, when we are now His family?
The death of Christ was an extremely high price to
pay.
The life of Christ is infinitely greater in value.
So Christ in death, did infinitely more for us while
we were enemies, and in life He does infinitely more again for us.
So the value of our salvation is beyond calculation.
Likewise, the value of our blessings after salvation and after spiritual growth
to maturity is again infinitely further beyond calculation.
The question leads to another question. What is all of
this worth to you?
