Proverbs 1:17

17 Surely in vain [chinnam] the net [resheth] is spread [zarah] in the sight [`ayin] of any bird [ba`al] [kanaph].   KJV-Interlinear

17 For in vain is a net spread in the sight of any bird,  ESV

The first proverb, in the strictest sense of the word, is now being presented. And it demonstrates the futility of listening to, or following in the footsteps of, those who do not pay attention to the teaching of the word of God, and those who simply disregard the teaching of the word of God.

The net and that is spread, is the judgment of God.

The net is clear and plain to see by all. There is no one, not a single person, that is not aware of Gods judgment, or of the repercussions of their choices in life.

What this proverb describes, is that everyone, makes decisions, while they are fully aware, and can plainly see the judgment of God before them. And yet, the still make the decisions, like a bird that sees the net, but will still fly directly into it, and is trapped by the certainty of that judgment.

In vain, refers to the certain failure of the sinners action, and yet knowing that failure is certain, they are still enticed by the empty promises of the world, and will pursue them anyway, all the way to their own destruction.

Unbelievers, reject Christ, knowing of the Lake of Fire, and yet they will still pursue false religions, or no religions, or philosophies that have no basis in fact or reality, even in the face of rejecting simple thought of believing in Christ, which takes no effort whatsoever.

Believers in Christ, are obviously saved, but what is set before them is their spiritual life. And yet believers, knowing that learning Bible doctrine is necessary in order to grow up and fulfill their spiritual life, will resist a daily study, or will resist instruction, in favor of their own wisdom instead of Gods wisdom. And therefore they fail in the spiritual life, and fly directly in to Gods net of discipline and loss of eternal reward.

All people make their decisions, with their eyes wide open, knowing full well that their resistance to Gods truth, whatever it may be, whether intentionally or through plain laziness, has repercussions that will not go well with them one way or another.

Therefore, no one has an excuse for the failure that is certain to come, when God, and Christ, and the mandates of the Bible are ignored.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.  To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But you have to decide to make that commitment.  No one else can study for you.  You have to do that yourself.
