Proverbs 1:16

16 for their feet run to evil, and they make
haste to shed blood. ESV
Evil is the policy
of Satan. Evil incorporates the entire framework and philosophy, which is
entirely and completely in opposition to God and truth. Wickedness is the
activity of evil.
Those who reject
truth, by default pursue evil in all of its broad array.
The shedding of
blood, is the destructive objective of evil, geared towards destroying
everything in accordance with the arrogance and selfish desire of Satan.
Evil promotes no
one, and benefits no one, but uses everyone, in order to advance its own
destructive end.
Evil appeals to
the sin nature life, offering both excitement, which is false excitement, in
hopes of fulfilling ones individual lusts, which is not a fulfillment. And
therefore, this enticement, although it is false, appeals to those who want
something for nothing, or the right to take at will, with total disregard for
everyone but themselves.
Evil comes in many
forms, including the great façade or deception, of peace and harmony and good,
as well as the indifferent right to take or do as one pleases.
Often times religion
is the mechanism that promotes evil activity, under the disguise of a righteous
stamp of approval. Or government may be used as the mechanism to promote evil regulations,
under the disguise of the greater good. And then of course, there are
individual people that pursue evil activity, under the disguise of sincerity or
good intentions.
And therefore,
there are those who will hasten to pursue this course of life, with total
disregard for anyone that gets in their way, or anyone that is hurt or comes to
harm, as a result. And any who oppose the standards of evil, are ostracized
with gossip or maligning, with bias or prejudice, and are removed if at all
possible because they are seen as a hindrance to the advancement of the
standards that an evil society promotes.
And when evil
takes hold of a society, and becomes common place and common thinking, then it
becomes easier and easier for a society to accept injustice and unfairness, as
the reasonable price for maintaining the standards that a society has adopted.
The only defense
and protection that society has in protecting itself from itself, is Bible
doctrine, which when learned and understood and utilized, will allow the eyes
to be opened, in order to see the true nature of evil.
But of course,
people have to want truth, more than they want the easy road of evil. And that
in itself can be a tremendous barrier and trap for individuals and for society.
