Psalm 37:11
11 But the meek [`anav] shall
inherit [yarash] the earth ['erets]; and shall delight [`anag]
themselves in the abundance [rob] of peace [shalowm]. KJV-Interlinear
11 But the meek shall inherit the land and
delight themselves in abundant peace. ESV
In contrast to the
wicked, the meek is a reference to those who have the inner resources of Gods wisdom,
because they have pursued and learned doctrine, rather than pretended to have
that which they do not have.
The wicked, or
anyone who lacks Bible doctrine, which could easily be you, and therefore lacks
the inner resources of the spiritual life.
And when those resources are lacking, then frustration, anxieties,
worries, stresses, angers, pride, haughtiness, and so forth, have control over
ones life.
The meek, is not
the weak person or the poor person, but the one who possesses confidence
through the knowledge and understanding that comes with learning doctrine, and
therefore from advancing in ones spiritual life.
The spiritually
aware person possesses a calmness, a relaxed mental attitude, consideration and
tolerance, and much more. But these
things are the result, of spiritual growth, they are not spiritual growth.
The person who
advances in their spiritual life will be in line for the inheritance of
inheritances.
The person who
does not advance in their spiritual life, will not inherit.
And when an
inheritance is beyond imagination, then the delight, is likewise phenomenal and
even beyond words or expression.
Abundance, means
excesses, or far more than you can possibly possess, and beyond that. So, it means a huge amount, a lot, a treasure
and more.
In abundant peace.
Peace is the
objective of the spiritual life. It is
the quintessence of spiritual maturity and beyond.
Spiritual growth
results in the fulfillment and completion of ones actual self-essence.
In this world, you
can acquire things, but they are external to you.
In the spiritual
life, your growth is an actual part of you, in your soul, and results in possessions
that are an integral part of your being.
Therefore, they are more intimate within you, because they are a part of
you. That magnifies your personal confidence
and contentment and faith.
