Isaiah 29:16

Isaiah 29:16

16 Surely your turning of things upside down [hophek] shall be esteemed [chashab] as the potter's [yatsar] clay [chomer]: for shall the work [ma`aseh] say ['amar] of him that made [`asah] it, He made [`asah] me not? or shall the thing framed [yetser] say ['amar] of him that framed [yatsar] it, He had no understanding [biyn]?   KJV-Interlinear

16 You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?   ESV

Anyone who ignores their obligations in the spiritual life, run the huge risk of perverting and distorting their own thinking into the depths of the absurd.

Can the clay pot tell anyone anything?

Can the clay tell the potter that he did not make the pot, or even that the potter has no wisdom or ability?

And the answer is of course, no.

First the clay has nothing unless it is given to it, and second the clay cannot, and is unable to, design itself, define itself, or make itself.

As it were, the clay has nothing and will never have anything unless and until, a designer fashions character into it.

This of course destroys all aspects of evolution.  Creation is the clay, and man is the clay, and all of life is the clay.

It did not bring itself into existence.

It did not define its own existence.

It did not design its own existence.

It did not even stumble into its own existence.

And you, as an individual, have nothing unless it comes to you, from a higher power, namely God.

You cannot rationalize anything, unless you have access and understanding of reality as well as orientation to reality.  Without doctrine, and Bible doctrine leads you to many forms of truth, but without it, you will have no connection to life.

And that lack of orientation leads inevitably to false logic, false reasoning, false conclusions and ultimately to the absurd.
