Romans 5:2

Copyright Ó 2015 J. Neely
Romans 5:2

2 By [dia] whom [hos] also [kai] we have [echo] access [prosagoge] by faith [pistis] into [eis] this [taute] grace [charis] wherein [en] [hos] we stand [histemi], and [kai] rejoice [kauchaomai] in [epi] hope [elpis] of the glory [doxa] of God [theos].   KJV-Interlinear

2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.   ESV

By whom, is a reference to Jesus Christ. He is our one and only access to God, or to deity, if you will.

God here, ‘theos,’ is a reference to the entire Godhead.

And our access is due to faith, not of anything we do or think we can do.  Mans works are out, as far as access to God is concerned.

Therefore, by faith, is our access.  But faith is not simply believing in something or anything. Faith comes by means of substance.

In salvation, faith is by means of the gospel of Christ.  The gospel of Christ refers to the entire subject and person of Jesus Christ.  Who He is, eternal God.  What He is, God and man.  What He has done, His work on the Cross, the promised Messiah, our savior, our Lord and so forth.

So, the entire subject of faith in Christ wraps up this entire package of facts regarding Christ.

But faith after salvation, takes on a different approach to God.  After salvation we have to have an ongoing and active relationship with God.

This requires confession so as to place us positionally in Gods presence.  We call this being in fellowship.

This requires learning of God, learning of Gods plan, learning of Gods will, and that all leads to learning of everything there is to learn about the world and life around us.  This learning comes by means of a daily study of Bible doctrine.

Now, you read or are taught the material in the Bible, and you read of Adam and Eve, and Noah and Abraham, and David, and the baby Jesus, and on and on and on, and you wonder what are you learning really!

But learning the words in the Bible is only a small part of your spiritual activity and growth.

When you are in fellowship, which means that you have confessed your sins and are now in fellowship, then the Holy Spirit is now in control of the learning operations of your soul.
You cannot feel Him or sense Him.  There are phony folks out there that claim that have the ghost and go into all sorts of drama gyrations to convince people, but it is all phony and false.  The Spiritual and the physical world, are separate and apart from each other.

But when the Spirit is in control, then what you learn is funneled into your human spirit, and then channeled down into your soul and transformed in your soul, into a spiritual structure within your soul.  What you learn in the Bible are the words that you read or hear, but what is happening in your soul is a supernatural activity which you do not see or feel or sense, but it is there.

The discipline of a daily Bible study, creates within you, and spiritual life and structure, which is not caused by you, but by God.

Christ is the doctrine, the Spirit is the mechanism, the Father is the representative objective.

So, by this faith, which is the spiritual growth process, we gain access to the grace of God.  Grace is Gods favor.  God is perfect and thorough and complete.  And therefore grace is the ultimate mechanism through which we receive Gods perfection and life.  God does all of the work, we receive the benefit of that work.

No doctrine, no spiritual life.  No spiritual life, no grace.  It is just that simple.

And because of all of this, we have hope.

Hope is not an empty wish.

Hope is the target of a desire for something and the expectation of obtaining it, as far as this world is concerned.

But in the spiritual world, hope has one more attribute, and that is confidence, and confidence is based on substance.  That substance is truth.  And truth is God.

So, through learning Bible doctrine, we gain a spiritual structure in our soul.

Using that doctrine, while in fellowship, we then have spiritual production, or the finishing touches with our soul.

This growth advances us in knowledge, in understanding, in wisdom, is faith, and ultimately in confidence.  This is then, hope, and not a wish, but a certainty.

The glory of God is the final piece of our spiritual life.  That will occur in the next life, when God rewards us, based on our spiritual content within our soul, and based on our consistency in following His spiritual process, which results in the completion of our soul, thus fulfilling our meaning and purpose, which He intended for us. And this we will have forever and ever.

But then you can ignore all of this, and what will you have?

Romans 5:1

Copyright Ó 2015 J. Neely
Romans 5:1

1 Therefore [oun] being justified [dikaioo] by [ek] faith [pistis], we have [echo] peace [eirene] with [pros] God [theos] through [dia] our [hemon] Lord [kurios] Jesus [Iesous] Christ [Christos]:   KJV-Interlinear

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.   ESV

You are either at peace with God or you are not at peace with God.  The difference being the status of your soul which is determined by your compliance with Gods mandates to learn Bible doctrine and grow up in your spiritual life.  Too many are not willing to do this.

Any transgression, causes a separation away from God.

When people do not comply with their daily studies, they are in effect separating themselves away from God.  Their transgression is their failure to comply with Gods mandates, their failure to not study, their failure to not learn doctrine, their failure to not function in their spiritual life.

All unbelievers are guilty of this.  They have not even believed in Christ, and therefore have not even begun their spiritual life.

All believers, who live outside of the fellowship sphere, are transgressing.  And of course all criminals, all self-righteous types, all sinners in the usual sense of the word, and so forth.

The biggest sin is of course non-compliance in the spiritual life.  Non-compliance, includes and leads to, failure in ones responsibilities, failure in ones obligations, and so forth.  That inevitably leads to all other patterns of sin and transgressions and relationship failures and such.

The spiritual life, brings peace.  That is the ultimate goal, which is spiritual maturity.

Faith brings salvation, which is of course the necessary prerequisite for the spiritual life.  But after salvation, one has to grow up in their spiritual life.

That requires a daily diet of spiritual food, which is Bible doctrine.

Doctrine in the soul, when learned, becomes the building blocks for the spiritual structure of the soul.  No doctrine studied, no doctrine in the soul.  No doctrine in the soul means no structure.

Use of doctrine used in ones daily life, creates spiritual production.  Production is the fruit of ones growth. Production is the finishing of the spiritual structure.

When you construct a home it is just a building.  But when you finish it, furnish it, landscape it, paint it, put finishing touches in it, then it becomes a real functional home.

That is your soul with doctrine being the structure, and production (or the use of doctrine) the finishing work of that structure.

But more than that, your entire structure continues to build and finish throughout your life, and that creates a fortress and faith, and security in Christ, and that brings peace.

The sinner, or transgressor, lacks peace, and will never have it.  The sinner has tension, and stress, and anger and hate and disrespect, and inordinate ambitions and lusts and on and on.

The growing believer will have these problems too, but the big difference between the two is that the growing believer has a pattern of life heading toward peace, whereas the transgressor will never head in that direction and will never have peace.

Paul distinguishes God from Christ because there is the Father, who is the traditional head of the Godhead, and the Son who is the heir and correct access path to the Father, and the Sprit who is God too, but provides the environment which we call fellowship, and the means of our access to God.

Therefore, God being all three members of the trinity, is accessible by means of Gods designed path, namely doctrine, which is Christ in written form, and the Spirit which is our power connection.

Isaiah 29:18

Copyright Ó 2015 J. Neely
Isaiah 29:18

18 And in that day [yowm] shall the deaf [cheresh] hear [shama`] the words [dabar] of the book [cepher], and the eyes [`ayin] of the blind [`ivver] shall see [ra'ah] out of obscurity ['ophel], and out of darkness [choshek].   KJV-Interlinear

18 In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.   ESV

Before people see and hear and understand, they will come under tremendous punishments and sufferings.  Often times people are so stubborn and so self-absorbed that the only way to get their attention is to hit them hard.  And that is what we have and will have in these end times.

People do not want to take the time or make the effort in digging out the truth from Bible doctrine.  They expect someone else to do it for them, or they see no need for doing anything themselves.  And this is the epitome of spiritual laziness.

Even the threat of destruction brings comments in words, but no real or genuine change in attitude.

When Jesus first came into this world, the Jews were expecting a dynamic Messiah, one who would ride up on a stallion, carrying a flaming sword and cut down the Romans with a single blow. Then set up His kingdom with them in His government, of course.  But that was not so.

When Jesus arrived on the scene, no one saw the fulfillment of prophecies, from the star, or the change of government to Roman rule, to the virgin birth, to the innumerable miracles He performed, and so forth.

After those days, centuries have passed, and still, people do not see their role in history from 2000 years ago, to today’s extreme technology changes. Most of which have occurred in just the last few decades versus the thousands of years of human history where knowledge remained at a virtual standstill by comparison.

And still the attitude of humanity has remained unchanged in the face of many things that are going on in history.  History just seems to not have any impact on human understanding.  And worse than that, people just do not seem to care, except superficially.

But time keeps moving forward.  The end times will give way to the final days, and then all hell will break loose on planet earth.

We are in the end times now.  The end times is defined as our dispensation.  From the comments of John and Jesus, we are in the end times.  We have been in the end times for well over 1900 years now and with each passing day, our times are getting closer to the completion of our era.

With the Rapture, the end times will end, and the final days will begin.  The final days, is of course the final seven years of the Tribulation.

Our era is the preparation for the Tribulation. When our dispensation ends, everything will be in place for the events of the Tribulation.

This includes a world full of spiritually negative people.  With the removal of all Christians at the Rapture, who are the preservative of the world, for the time being, then all deterioration of the world will rapidly begin, and will accelerate during the Tribulation.

The horrors will be so great, because the stubbornness of not listening to truth, will be likewise so great.

Both Paul and Jesus stated that the times of the great changes will not occur until there is a great apostasy, and looking around, we are certainly getting closer and closer to that attitude around the world.

You need not look too hard, to see evidences stated in the Bible.  But then, other than making occasional comments, who is really looking anyway?

But once judgment has been completed, then those who survive, and there will not be many survivors, will hear and see and understand, probably as never before in all of history.

In the Tribulation there will be great resistance toward truth, despite great pressures.  And yet in our current day, there is tremendous resistance toward truth, despite a world that has nothing anywhere near the pressures that will exist in the Tribulation.
