Psalm 38:9

Psalm 38:9

9 Lord ['Adonay], all my desire [ta'avah] is before thee; and my groaning ['anachah] is not hid [cathar] from thee.   KJV-Interlinear

9 O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you.  ESV

The word for Lord, Adonay, is a form that is used when expressing the deepest reverence and greatest respect toward someone who is far superior than oneself.

This verse and the next five verses following, express the increased intensiveness and anguish that is being experienced, resulting in phenomenal loneliness.

The words for desire and groaning, are used to describe the intense sorrow and anguish that is being felt.

God is not blind, nor is He callous or cold, toward the difficulties of the individual.

Each individual has only two ways to look in life.

The first direction is toward God, and the second direction is away from God.

There is no third direction, nor even any middle ground. Each direction is mutually exclusive and does not intersect or complement each other in any way. They are opposites. And that is the expression used here.

Life in this world, under the thumb of the sin nature, produces nothing good.

Life in the spiritual realm, under the guidance of God through doctrine, produces only good.

The choice as to which direction a person should go, is obvious. However, making that choice, seems to be more difficult.

The sin nature stands in the way, but your volition and ability to make decisions can overcome its power, when reinforced with Bible doctrine in the soul.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.  To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But you have to decide to make that commitment.  No one else can study for you.  You have to do that yourself.
