Romans 6:10

10 For [hos] [gar] in that he died [apothnesko], he died [apothnesko] unto sin [hamartia] once [ephapax]: but [de] in that [hos] he liveth [zao], he liveth [zao] unto God [theos].  KJV-Interlinear

10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.   ESV

Jesus Christ did not die of sin, He died to sin. Meaning that sin, as a separate object, was charged with the penalty of death. That death belonged to each and every person. But Christ stood in our place and that charge of death was placed upon Him instead of us.

Therefore, He was made sin, meaning that Jesus Christ was charged with the transgressions that we caused.  The transgression, the charge, the punishment, all, were placed on Him.

Jesus Christ did not sin, and He was not born with sin. Adams original sin was not imputed to Jesus, because He did not have a human father. Joseph was excluded from the pregnancy process, therefore Adam sin was not passed to Him.

Jesus Christ died once. One death was all that it took to pay the penalty of all the sins of all of humanity throughout all of history.

Once, means that there will not be a second cross. There is one charge, one punishment, one death, and now the price for sin was paid in full. There is no double jeopardy.

Likewise, there is one salvation and one faith. And in that faith, we too died to sin.

We cannot lose that salvation, and we do not need to be saved over and over again.

Once saved, always saved.

And when Christ went to the cross and died for the sins of humanity, He paid the price for all sins, of all of humanity.

He did not die for the sins of believers only, but He died for everyone regardless of whether they believe in Him or not.

Unbelievers are not sent to the Lake of Fire because of their sins, but because of their works, which they presume are better than the work of Christ. Their unbelief, is a subscription to themselves rather than Christ.

Life is lived to God. And more specifically life is lived to the glory of God. And since God is truth, then life is truth, and life is identified with truth. Life is never identified with death.

Therefore, since we have died to sin, and now have life, then we should be consistent in our life, and conduct ourselves in accordance with the mandates of life.

And those mandates are very simple. Having been saved, we have the opportunity to complete ourselves within the spiritual realm which is the environment and function and process of the spiritual life.

And quite simply, that means pursuing the learning of Bible doctrine through instruction, and needless to say, on a daily basis.

To ignore this, would make you a hypocrite, by having life through salvation or faith in Christ, and not living it, by ignoring the mandates of Bible doctrine.

And that would be the inconsistency of faith on the one hand, and indifference on the other.
