Psalm 38:11

Psalm 38:11

11 My lovers ['ahab] and my friends [rea`] stand [`amad] aloof from [neged] my sore [nega`]; and my kinsmen [qarowb] stand [`amad] afar off [rachowq].   KJV-Interlinear

11 My friends and companions stand aloof from my plague, and my nearest kin stand far off.  ESV

The word for lovers, ahab, refers to people that are closest to you, such as in intimacy or as family, such as brothers or sisters and such.

Friends, rea, refers to associates or fellow workers or people with which you have a regular relationship of some type.

Kinsman, qarowb, refers to neighbors, or those whom you know, but are not close at hand.

In other words, the impact on ones entire life, runs the entire range of social interaction, whether it be intimate or distant.

The sore, nega, is a reference to the infirmity whatever it is. It can be a sickness, a disease, an illness, an injury of some kind, an attitude, or whatever. But no matter what the infirmity is, it is bad enough to drive away everyone that is in your social periphery, either near or far.

And of course the spiritual lesson here, is that, spiritual decline or the absence of the spiritual life, will have an impact on your relationships, no matter what they are.

Not to say that the spiritual life will give you better relationships by default, because this is the Devils world, and other people have flaws also.

If you yourself have a poor quality spiritual life, then your relationships will be of poor quality, sooner or later.

Advancing in your spiritual life, gives you more discernment, helping you make better choices, and providing for you a better quality of life overall.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.  To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But you have to decide to make that commitment.  No one else can study for you.  You have to do that yourself.
