Psalm 18:17

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:17

17 He delivered [natsal] me from my strong [`az] enemy, ['oyeb] and from them which hated [sane'] me: for they were too strong ['amats] for me. KJV-Interlinear

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. NASB

He who is in this world, Satan, sin, evil, evil humanity, worldliness and so forth, are far greater than any single human being.  They are more powerful than you or me or anyone who has ever lived.

The world hates truth.  The world hates God.  And therefore the world hates by default, anyone who has any relationship with God.  In fact, the world hates everything and everyone.  It just hates truth and God and believers more.

And as the world tries to get rid of God, truth and believers, then it would turn on itself in self-destruction and extinction.  The world has no plan, and no desire to be more than the evil that it is.

The world is powerful as far as any individual goes.

But, the world is never more powerful that God.  It simply cannot compete.

As God systematically destroys evil and disrupts the world from end to end, He is able to seek out and find and pluck out from harms way, each and every mature believer.  Raising them up to higher ground so to speak, and to safety from the floods of judgment.

And that is one of the principles of this chapter.  Despite the chaos that will from time to time, occur in history, and most certainly at the end of human history, God delivers mature believers, will little effort and with great ease.

The world may be churning in destruction, but the spiritually mature believer will be safe and unharmed, delivered from the judgment that will fall upon all of the evil that is around him.
