Psalm 18:16
16 He sent [shalach] from above, [marowm] he took [laqach] me, he
drew [mashah] me out of many [rab] waters. [mayim] KJV-Interlinear
16 He
sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. NASB
He, is God.
Sent from above, means
that all of Gods efforts come from heaven and from nowhere else. His life and essence and power and so forth
are not of this world, but from heaven which is the current residence and seat
of power of God.
All efforts of
sustaining, all details of provision, all things that exist in your life, come
not from this world, but from God in heaven. Were it not for God, this earth,
your life, would not exist. Were it not
for God, the things in this world, the vast reservoirs of resources, would not
exist. Were it not for God, the
principles of establishment would not exist.
He drew out from many
waters. The many waters is a reference
to all of the worldly turmoil, all of the many philosophies, all of the many
religions, all that is untrue, evil and corrupt in this world.
And so in your life and
mine, we are surrounded by the cosmos of this world, a realm that is filled
with the most anti-God views and attitudes and opinions and such. And yet God is able to rescue us out from, ‘drew
me out,’ the turmoil and chaos of this world.
And when the end of the
world finally comes along, that time period will be filled with phenomenal
chaos, and turmoil and death, and disaster, but God will still be able to sift
through the chaos, and find each individual spiritually mature believer, and
rescue them, and bring them to safety.
If you followed the
Revelation study, then you know that the end of the world will be filled with
massive earthquakes as entire continents will be shaken to their foundations,
and storms and murderous gangs and armies, not to mention the massive
starvation and absence of economies, but still there will be a few who God can
and will deliver.
No matter what the circumstances
of your life, nothing is too great for God.
God is well able to deliver you through any and all trials you will
encounter. But God will do things on His
terms, not necessarily yours. His terms are the best terms possible. Your obligation is to be in compliance with
Gods mandates for the spiritual life.
