Psalm 37:38

Psalm 37:38

38 But the transgressors [pasha`] shall be destroyed [shamad] together [yachad]: the end ['achariyth] of the wicked [rasha`] shall be cut off [karath].   KJV-Interlinear

38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.   ESV

The word for transgressors, pasha, refers to sinners, violators, rebels, quarrelers, those who revolt. They are also referred to here as the wicked using the word, rasha, meaning condemned, guilty, ungodly. And, this is a reference to all unbelievers, or all people who have rejected Christ and are therefore unsaved.

The word for together, yachad, refers to the union of them, in one place, at one time, all as one, and it also means mutually with one another.

Throughout history people are born into this world and they live their lives, and having rejected Christ, when they die, they leave this world as unsaved people. This happens to each individual unbeliever, and it happens repeatedly throughout history, throughout every generation.

At the moment of their physical death, they are not completely destroyed or cut off, as it were.

Completely destroyed and cut off, are terms that refer to a permanent destruction and removal from existence.

There will come a time when all unbelievers will be brought together, and they will stand as one before the ultimate judge, Jesus Christ.

That will occur at the end of all history, at the end of the millennium, when Christ brings all unbelievers before Him, at the Great White Throne. It will be there that they will receive their final judgment, altogether, all as one, and sent to the Lake of Fire, and there to live in oblivion and terror and perpetual destruction forever.

Unbelievers, have one prayer request in common, which is to live their lives without God.

And Jesus Christ grants them their single request, by sending them to a godless place.

Realize, that where there is no God, there is no life and there is no order and there is no stability. There is only chaos and insecurity and terror, and no relationship with anything or anyone.

Committing oneself to such an existence that is so horrible, is the quintessence of stupidity.

And yet in the arrogance of their ignorance, all unbelievers presume that they can have a life of their own choosing, without God. All the while looking around and seeing that no individual can have a life of their own choosing, without anyone else.

We live in a world that is run by Satan, and yet history is run by Jesus Christ. No human being has any control over the angelic conflict. And yet to ignore the existence of that conflict, ignores the existence of half of reality.

It takes quite an effort to live an entire life, when a person is thinking constantly moment by moment throughout each day over the course of ones entire life, and refuse, defiantly, to believe in Jesus Christ.

That is the quintessence of stubbornness, and the ultimate arrogance, that is the common thread that runs throughout the thinking of all unbelievers.

And so we have disclosed here in the Old Testament, the great gathering that will occur at the end of history, where unbelievers will stand before the Lord, face to face, and see directly the person that they claim does not exist.

One would think, that, that ultimate realization would wake them up to the truth. But unfortunately, even in the face of the ultimate truth, they will still reject truth defiantly.
