Isaiah 30:20

Isaiah 30:20

20 And though the Lord ['Adonay] give [nathan] you the bread [lechem] of adversity [tsar], and the water [mayim] of affliction [lachats], yet shall not thy teachers [yarah] be removed into a corner [kanaph] any more, but thine eyes [`ayin] shall see [ra'ah] thy teachers [yarah]:   KJV-Interlinear

20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.   ESV

Adversity and prosperity will come and go, but the one consistent thing that will never leave or disappear from life, is the existence of Bible doctrine, and the presence of an instructor or teacher from whom doctrine can be learned.

From time to time the Lord brings adversity into ones life. Here referred to as the bread of adversity, or the water of affliction, just as food and water are an integral part of our daily lives here in this world, so also adversity is a common occurrence or event that we can expect in our life.

The term used for Lord, Adonay, is used here to express the authority and exalted position of deity. It is phrased in the singular, and therefore refers to Jesus Christ who controls history.

And so we have the promise, since this is the Devils world, we can and should expect trials, tribulations, and tests that keep coming at us repeatedly in our life.

But the promise of God is, you are never left alone, and you are never left without access to doctrine, to instruction in doctrine, and therefore access to God.

The bread and water of adversity and affliction stand in contrast to the bread and water of life.

Adversity and affliction come from this world, while doctrine comes from God.

And while someone prepares food for you within the sphere of this world, God prepares food for you within the spiritual life. And one of those mechanisms of preparation, comes in the form of an instructor.

There will never be a time, there will never be generation, since the time of Adam, until the end of time, that the world will be without Bible doctrine or teachers of doctrine.

And to the person who is positive toward God, and genuinely wants to learn and grow and continue in their spiritual life, then God will bring them to instruction, or instruction to them.

Often times the travels to instruction, are not pleasant. People can suffer heart aches, or slavery, or even being driven from their homes or livelihood. Times can look terribly bleak. But at the end of the road, for the spiritually positive person, there is always the light of doctrine, and the means to learn it. All things work together for good.

The world is well-equipped for throwing all things bad at people.

But God is well-equipped for bringing truth and light, and the means to learn it, to anyone and everyone who truly want it, regardless of their circumstances.

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.
