Proverbs 1:18
18 And they lay wait ['arab] for
their own blood [dam]; they
lurk privily [tsaphan] for
their own lives [nephesh]. KJV-Interlinear
18 but these men lie in wait for their own
blood; they set an ambush for their own lives. ESV
And not only do
people see clearly the net of destruction, namely God’s judgment, and pursue
their anti-truth ways anyway, but, they in effect, are setting the trap for themselves.
People who do not practice
truth, which is the content of the Scriptures, as a normal part of their
day-to-day life, then by default, practice untruth.
Untruth, is a
separation from truth, and therefore a separation from reality, and likewise a
separation from God. And any separation from God, is a recipe for
self-destruction.
God provided the
contents of creation for those who belong to Him.
Anyone who does
not belong to God, refuses that relationship, by their own choice.
Anyone unrelated
to God, has no right to anything in creation.
Therefore, anyone
lacking a relationship with God, by whatever means, but still claims access to
the things of creation, in effect, make false claims. They are trying to take
something that does not belong to them. There are trying to take things that do
not belong to them, from others who have rightful access.
To take something
that does not belong to you, is simply theft, and you set yourself up for
criminal action, namely Gods justice, against yourself.
The terms blood,
and lives, reflects the action of Gods judgment or justice, against that
person.
For unbelievers,
the action is the Lake of Fire. For believers, who function out of fellowship, the
action is discipline, and/or, loss of blessing or reward.
Whatever the case,
or whatever the reason, individuals who resist Christ or doctrine, are setting
themselves up for a greater judgment or discipline against themselves, than
their own actions attempt to bring against others.
These
studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org,
and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so
already, and therefore not be lost forever.
And
if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you
can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come
to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and
purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a
phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever. To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily
study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big
time.
The
Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human
history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to
complete yourself beyond your imagination.
But
you have to decide to make that commitment.
No one else can study for you.
You have to do that yourself.
