Isaiah 5:9

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Isaiah 5:9

9 In mine ears ['ozen] said the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts, [tsaba'] Of a truth [lo'] many [rab] houses [bayith] shall be desolate, [shammah] even great [gadowl] and fair, [towb] without inhabitant. [yashab] KJV-Interlinear

9 In my ears the Lord of hosts has sworn, "Surely, many houses shall become desolate, Even great and fine ones, without occupants. NASB

Greed covers a wide range of sins.  Beginning with arrogance and the arrogance of indifference, and ending with the greed of having what one wants and not what God offers.  The end result is total loss.

Wait on the Lord and you will receive the desires of your heart.  But in greed, one waits on the world and ends up with nothing, regardless of what is accumulated or acquired, or attained in this life.

We all begin this life as a blank tablet ready to be filled with knowledge, which includes the knowledge of how to utilize the physical or mental gifts that God alone gives us.

Unfortunately far too many take their abilities for granted or take their achievements as due to their efforts alone, and God is given no credit.

People place the value of their life or existence, on things they have or have achieved.  However, the real value of the person is in the soul, and not in the things that are external to them.

The soul contains knowledge and the use of that knowledge, which is called wisdom.  Bible doctrine is the only correct knowledge, leading to the only correct wisdom in existence.  The world provides many aspects of truth, but tends to skew them into awkward philosophies or religions or beliefs, and thus ends up with false knowledge, false interpretations, and false wisdom.

Anything that is false and that is pursued, is a pursuit of something that does not really exist.  Thus the end result is zero.

When the world focuses on zero, then the world ends up with nothing.

Even the great and majestic homes and buildings and bureaucracies, and things that people place their trust and pride in, end up as nothing.  And when the end finally comes, those great things will be destroyed.  They will cease to exist, they will have no owners, they will have no one to boast of their beauty or grandeur, they will have no occupants, they, the things of the world, will be nothing just as the people who looked to them in pride, will be nothing.

Desolate and without inhabitant, means just that.  This is a prophecy that applies to each individual, even to you, should you ignore God and pursue your imaginary worldly life.  But it also is a prophecy for how the end of the world will look, when God destroys everything of evil.

The population of humanity will be depleted to the bare minimums, being believers only, as all people who had control of the world will then be gone.  Dead in high heaps of corpses, which will take months to bury, and a feast for the scavenger birds for those same many months.

Psalm 18:12

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:12

12 At the brightness [nogahh] that was before him his thick clouds [`ab] passed, [`abar] hail [barad] stones and coals [gechel] of fire. ['esh] KJV-Interlinear

12 From the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds, Hailstones and coals of fire. NASB

The storm is violent, dark, windy, rain pounding down, and then the lightning flashes are so bright that the light that flashes through the clouds, seem to make the clouds vanish as the flash of light shines through them, leaving only an outline or silhouette of sorts of the surrounding ever changing cloud formations.

When God executes His judgment upon mankind, in those final days of history, this is the picture being painted of violence and the constant motion of an ever changing environment of activity.  This judgment will be ongoing, and constant, day and night.  Those who are its victims will have no rest, no peace, no quite, no safety.

As the generations of humanity proceed through history, the indifference and disinterest in God will reach an all- time high, wherein man will believe himself to be invincible, and untouchable, and impossible to stop.

There will be virtually no respect for any higher power, as man believes himself to be the highest power that there is.  Even though man is always surrounded by natural disasters year after year, and only watches them as they come and go with little fear, and always certain of recovery.  After all there is always insurance, or government relief, and always someone on the way to help and restore life back to the way it was.

But in those final days, there will be no insurance, no relief, no one on their way to help.  The entire world will be engulfed in the most hostile of disasters imaginable.  But it will not be nature gone mad, but God launching His wrath upon evil mankind.

Storms of nature have no mind, no plan.  They ramble on due to the heat and cold and pressure or various natural forces on the planet.

But when this last series of storms erupts worldwide, it will be God behind the driving forces.  And from that there will be no recovery.  And the scariest part of all of this is, that unfortunately people who give no second thought to some arbitrary passing storm, will fail to give a second thought to this their last storm.

Psalm 18:11

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Psalm 18:11

11 He made [shiyth] darkness [choshek] his secret place; [cether] his pavilion [cukkah] round about [cabiyb] him were dark [cheshkah] waters [mayim] and thick clouds [`ab] of the skies. [shachaq] KJV-Interlinear

11 He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.  NASB

The descriptive symbolism of God riding the clouds of a powerful storm, reigns in hand, whip for thunder and lightning.

The darkness and secret place describe the thickness and depth of the storm stretching from horizon to horizon, totally engulfing and surrounding God as He drives the storm of judgment and finality.

The pavilion, the waters, the thick clouds, add to the description of a powerful and driving storm, with clouds surging and filled with water and rain, massive movement due to high winds, driving the clouds from layer to layer, from new clouds intermixing with other clouds, layered from the ground to the highest of elevations.

This description continues to describe the vast and unmatchable power that cannot be imitated or duplicated or controlled, nor even defended against, by man.  Before the storm there is no hiding place, no place to run, no escape.

Your life stands before you and your destiny is in the decisions of your hands, but so too is Gods final say in the matter.  And from that final evaluation, there is no way to avoid it.

Ephesians 3:10

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 3:10

10 To the intent that [hina] now [nun] unto the principalities [arche] and [kai] powers [exousia] in [en] heavenly [epouranios] places might be known [gnorizo] by [dia] the church [ekklesia] the manifold [polupoikilos] wisdom [sophia] of God, [theos] KJV-Interlinear

10 in order that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.  NASB

What is the principle reason for the formation of the Church and the Church Age.

Why did God interrupt the Age of Israel, which had only seven years remaining, and stop the last and final days of history, and then place into history our age, which now in 2012, has gone on for about 1,982 years and still going.

The primary reason for our era of history, is to teach and demonstrate to all of the angelic realm, the manifold wisdom of God.

So what is it in our dispensation that is different from all other dispensations, that the angelic realm needs to learn?

Well, if you think about it for a while, just imagine what has occurred during our time, that has not occurred during other times.

And basically there are many things that have occurred that demonstrate Gods wisdom.

But first, understand the meaning of manifold, ‘polupoikilos,’ and that means diverse, varied, variegated, multifarious, assorted, mixture, many.  So during our age, God has made known many types of wisdom to not only people, but to angels.  However, the angelic population is the principle target of Gods instruction.

Not only has God created a new spiritual species, in the formation of believers and spiritually mature believers, not only has God demonstrated that with the completed canon of scripture, He, through man, can perpetuate history effectively, even in the face of horrendous natural and manmade disasters, not only has God spread man and the gospel throughout the planet, not only has God, through man, revealed many of the phenomenal secrets of this planet and the universe from genetics to black holes, not only has God revealed the comprehensive nature of His divine plan for man, from birth, to salvation, to spiritual growth, to eternal evaluation and reward, to the promised eternal state, but God has used our era of history to teach not only man, but angels.

The angels were the first of creation.  They existed in eternity past with God.  They were created simultaneously and did not see a progressive increase in their own population at any time.  They witnessed the instant creation of the entire universe and must certainly have been in awe.  At least for a time.  But then they rebelled, all of them, and turned against God.

We already know that two-thirds of them returned to God, based on whatever the terms were for that return, and one-third of the angelic population rejected God permanently.

God could easily have ended history at that time and then only the saved angels would exist with God forever.  But there was more that they needed to learn.  And not only has there been many revelations in science and technology and so forth, but the bigger revelation comes in the form of the grace of God, the formation of the Royal Family, the Bride of Christ, and the eternal purpose of this all.

This demonstrates to all angels, that God is indeed perfect and sovereign and that they had an opportunity a very long time ago to have something better, but they blew it, so to speak.  And now a lower creature will be elevated to a higher position than they, because of faith, which is something that cannot be measured or contained.

As creatures, we as man, are by far of a lesser capacity and ability, and have seen far less history, than the angels.  We can only look back at history through the evidence of bones, through geology and so forth, and have our best guess as to how it all fits together.  They lived it.

Angels have witnessed every generation of human history while man can only witness his own generation and read about the past.  Most of that past is limited to a hand full of recorded names, out of perhaps a trillion possible names, and the major movements of peoples in macro views of history, never knowing the details of the individual lives of the greater numbers of people from the past.

But with our single dispensation, the promise of salvation has been completed, the royal family is being formed, the spiritual promises through grace are made manifest to all who wish to see, and the plan of God is revealed in its completeness and purpose.

And who is learning all of this?  Those who have lived every hour and day, and every year since before man, since before dinosaurs, since before the universe.  And it is in our dispensation that all of Gods varied wisdom has been brought together and made known to those who should have known better, but did not.

Ephesians 3:9

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 3:9

9 And [kai] to make [photizo] all [pas] men see [photizo] what [tis] is the fellowship [koinonia] of the mystery, [musterion] which [ho] from [apo] the beginning of the world [aion] hath been hid [apokrupto] in [en] God, [theos] who [ho] created [ktizo] all things [pas] by [dia] Jesus [Iesous] Christ: [Christos]KJV-Interlinear

9 and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things; NASB

What is the mystery that God has kept secret since the beginning of the world?

It is not of salvation, for way back in the Garden, God promised a Messiah who would crush the head of the serpent.  It was not of the spiritual life, for even the sacrifices of Cain and Abel portrayed the principles of salvation and the spiritual life.

The Levitical offerings that were documented by Moses, the offerings that were made by Job hundreds of years prior to Moses, even prior to Abraham, all speak of the grace of God and of Gods plan.  The magi knew of the promised Messiah and they traveled a long way to see Jesus shortly after his birth.  Many gentiles came to find the Savior, and many gentiles are mentioned in the Old Testament, with full knowledge of the Savior and of the spiritual life.  Even Alexander the Great, when he was marching on Jerusalem, was met by the priests of that time and was shown the text of Daniel, prophesying his conquests.

So these secrets of God are not in reference to basic doctrines of salvation, of confession, of the spiritual life, of the last days, of the end of history, of the Kingdom to come, of the resurrection, of prophecy in general, and so forth.  For all of these concepts and truths were freely made available to any and all who were interested.

There is only one thing that has been kept secret and that was the revealing of the Church Age and the many doctrines that apply only to this dispensation, which revealing did not occur until Jesus revealed it, and until Paul amplified it.

The word for fellowship or administration, ‘koinonia,’ means the administration pertaining to an era of time, a dispensation.  It refers to the specific administration, of a specific era, and not to the general management activity that applies across all time periods of history.

This Church Age is unique in that we have the completed canon of scripture.  We have no revelations made to us by God or by angels.  We have the indwelling of all three members of the trinity, we have royal titles that never occurred in the past, we have so many things with which God has blessed us, that so many in past ages, did not have available to them.  And in all of these things and more (see the detailed blessings list online in the special studies library), we have a more completed picture painted for us as to exactly what God intends for all believers, as well as details of the more difficult times that are still ahead in the future.

These secrets, were held back by God.  They were included in His divine plan from eternity past.  God did not generate new plans once Christ made it to the Cross, but held back certain details of His divine plan until the time that they should be revealed.  And that revelation is in regard to our dispensation, the Church Age.

From the Old Testament point of view, the Messiah was going to come, pay the price for sin, rid the world of evil and then establish His kingdom on earth.  And this was all going to happen in one fluid sequence of events that would be witnessed by those who were on the earth at the time of His arrival.  This is why He was constantly asked, even by the apostles, ‘Is the Kingdom now?’

They completely messed up the activity of the Cross, the resurrection, the ascension, Christs second return, and how it all was going to fit together.  Obviously if He ascends into heaven He has to return a second time, in order to be here again.

Since that generation was completely mixed up on the Cross and Christs purpose, then it should not be unreasonable to understand that they were confused on other aspects of Gods plan.

On several occasions, Jesus told the apostles that he must be killed, be buried, be resurrected and then go away for a while, and then return.  They never figured it out until after the Cross.  Paul had to clarify things even decades later because people were expecting Christ to return at any moment, and thus we have the ‘great’ apostasy at the end of the age principle, revealed to us.

And now, for the very first time in all of history, we not only have an inserted dispensation into history, but we have the completed canon of scripture through which God has revealed His entire plan for each one of us and for all of humanity and for all creatures, and for all of creation.  We have a completed picture, sufficient for us to understand the course of our individual lives and the course of human history.

No one has any excuse for not knowing, because the information is there for the learning and the knowing.

Unfortunately too many folks do not know the doctrines of our age, because they do not learn, and they do not learn because they do not want to take the time to learn, to be taught, or to study as required by God.  Thus they simply know nothing, or they apply Old Testament doctrines that pertain to that era, to our era, and that leads to confusion and false interpretations of life and of history.

God created all things.  God invented all things.  God controls all things.  And most certainly God controls and manages history in accordance with a plan that He designed a very long time ago.  Satan, angels, and man control nothing, even though they think that they do.

Ephesians 3:8

Copyright Ó 2012 J. Neely
Ephesians 3:8

8 Unto me, [emoi] who am less than the least [elachistoteros] of all [pas] saints, [hagios] is [didomi] this [houtos] grace [charis] given, [didomi] that I should preach [euaggelizo] among [en] the Gentiles [ethnos] the unsearchable [anexichniastos] riches [ploutos] of Christ; [Christos] KJV-Interlinear

8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, NASB

Paul is generally credited with writing thirteen books of the New Testament.  Luke wrote most of the text content which is in the New Testament.  John wrote some of the most revealing concepts in the New Testament.

Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament, putting into formal writing the many doctrinal concepts that had been handed down verbally from generation to generation from Adam’s time to the time of Moses.  Isaiah wrote some of the most revealing doctrine concerning the Messiah and the prophecies of Gods people.

Many other people wrote scripture, and because of their efforts and sacrifices, many billions and billions and perhaps even trillions of people throughout history, have learned of Christ and the spiritual life and have benefited as a result.

How much of the Bible did you write?  None.  No one in our generation, nor since the end of that very first century A.D., has written anything that was not originally in the scriptures.

No one else in all of human history, has contributed so much that has benefited so many, than these original writers of scripture.  The benefits that we receive or have received, are infinite, because they affect our eternal life and go on forever.

And while we see awards shows for movies and music, we see awards for scientists and philosophers, we see awards and prizes for many categories of activities, and yet none even begin to come close to the human impact and greatness of these original writers of scripture.

Paul deserves more rewards and recognitions than can be counted, and yet he does not count himself as special or significant or any better than anyone else.

That is the attitude that we should all have.

People are life forms placed into dust molds.  It is God who formed us all, each in our own special way.  Some are phenomenally beautiful.  Some are phenomenally intelligent.  Some are phenomenally talented.  And in all of those characteristics, it is God who formed the dust into those different results.

Man does not cause himself to be talented or beautiful or smart, or anything else for that matter.  Man has no basis for credit to himself for whatever he is.

We are all what we are, because of Gods grace, which is Gods favor, and for no other reason.  And Gods grace is given to each of us, for one purpose and one purpose only, and that is so that we can come to Christ in salvation (gospel) and come to Christ is spiritual maturity (doctrine), thus completing a process that God started and that God sustains, and that God will perpetuate forever.

None of us have any credit, nor do we deserve any credit for the results of our life.  Only God deserves that recognition.
