Ephesians 2:21
21 In [en] whom [hos] all [pas] the building [oikodome] fitly framed together [sunarmologeo] groweth [auxano] unto [eis] an holy [hagios] temple [naos] in [en] the Lord: [kurios] KJV-Interlinear
21 in
whom the whole building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in
the Lord; NASB
In whom, is a reference from
the previous verse, to Jesus Christ. He
is God. He is the cornerstone, the
foundation, the written word, the total substance or reality.
The building, is the body
or believers which we call the Church. This
is also called the nation, and the family, and that is what is being assembled throughout
history, until the end of history and these same peoples, from both genders,
from all nations, from all cultures, from all races, and so forth, will live
together in eternity, worshiping the same God, the same truth, living the same spiritual
process, while simultaneously maintaining each individuals personality, likes,
and such.
Framed together, ‘sunarmologeo,’
means to fit together piece by piece as a puzzle is fitted together, as any
construction project is put together piece by piece, element by element, phase
by phase until the entire job has been completed.
It is God who is making
this assembly. It is God who is putting
together all of the pieces, the Church, made up of many millions and billions
and most likely trillions of believers from all of human history, until the
entire body of Christ, all believers from Adam until the end of the ages, is
completed. Piece by piece, believer by
believer.
Unto the holy temple,
defined Christianity, or all that are gathered to God through Christ. This excludes all religions, all
philosophies, all opinions, all good intentions, all beliefs or even
non-beliefs, except one, which is Christianity.
Jesus Christ controls
history. Jesus Christ is assembling His
family in preparation for eternity. Life
is not man advancing through history in order to one day rule the galaxies. Life is man being given the opportunity to
get himself ready, through Christ, for eternity. To ignore this opportunity, to disregard this
opportunity, to do otherwise is the huge mistake of the fool.
