Isaiah 3:10
10 Say ['amar] ye to the
righteous, [tsaddiyq] that it shall be well [towb] with him: for they shall eat ['akal] the fruit [pariy] of their
doings. [ma`alal] KJV-Interlinear
10 Say
to the righteous that it will go well with them, For they will eat the fruit of
their actions. NASB
The contrast between
those who pursue Gods plan for their lives, versus those who pursue opposition
to Gods plan.
The former receive Gods
righteousness and the appropriate blessings that accompany obedience to the
spiritual life, while the latter, the wicked, pursue things that destroy their own
soul.
Even though pursuing the
Christian life seems embarrassing to many, even though pursuing the Christian
life is arbitrarily defined by many, even though pursuing the Christian life is
rejected outright by many, their indifference or rejection or invention will result
in their loss of blessing. And that loss
is infinite.
For those few who pursue
the Christian life as defined by God, which means growth and production through
study, through understanding, through application of doctrine to ones daily
life, then there will be great reward, phenomenal reward, ‘they will eat,’ for
them both in time and in eternity.
That reward has already
been established, has already been determined, and therefore is certain and
guaranteed.
In Christ there is no
loss, no uncertainty, but the confidence of Gods promise and guarantee.
You just need to make
certain that you pursue your spiritual life as God has defined the process, and
not by some invented process of your own that seems more convenient to you. Remember that sincerity and/or good intentions
are not Gods plan, study and obedience are.
