Psalm 15:1
1 A Psalm [mizmowr] of David. [David]
LORD, [Yahovah] who shall abide [guwr] in thy tabernacle ['ohel]?
who shall dwell [shakan] in thy holy [qodesh] hill [har]?KJV-Interlinear

of David.
15 O
Lord, who may abide in Thy tent? Who may dwell on Thy holy hill? NASB
The question is put. Who is qualified to live with God. Most everyone has their own idea as to what
is required or what it takes to have a relationship with God, but for most
folks, their ideas are totally invented out of their own impressions that are
convenient to them, and not necessarily compatible with the requirements that
are mandated by God.
Abide, ‘guwr,’ means to
sojourn, to turn aside from a traveled road, to dwell, to assemble.
The tabernacle is the
dwelling place of God, however the tabernacle is temporary, and not permanent.
The holy hill is a
reference to Zion, which is referred to as the dwelling place, the permanent
dwelling place of God. This is the place
of truth, or as we view it in scripture, doctrine, the content of Gods truth,
And as the question is
asked of God, the answer is also answered by God as well.
Man cannot ask the
question and then provide his own answer, especially when mans answer follows
his own definition or inventions of convenience.
So, what do you think the
answer is to this question?
What do you feel is
necessary for you, in order to live with God, not only for the permanency of
eternity but for the temporary period of your earthly life?
What should you do? How can you do what you think you should do?
What is acceptable to
God? And, what is acceptable to you?
What are you willing to
do? What are you not willing to do?
Remember that this
question refers to both a temporary place as well as a permanent place. Can you identify either of them?
