Isaiah 2:18

Isaiah 2:18

18 And the idols ['eliyl] he shall utterly [kaliyl] abolish. [chalaph] KJV-Interlinear

18 But the idols will completely vanish. NASB

Not only with the carnal attitudes of the world vanish, but the objects of their attention will vanish as well.

Idols are the objects of which you dedicate the greatest portion of your life.

Whether it be texting on a cell phone, posting on a social network, plotting your next theft, pursuing your next drug or smoke fix, hustling for all the material possessions you can accumulate, keeping yourself busy with whatever activity (work, hobby, tv, etc) you do from day to day, and so forth.  All of these things and far, far more, when your material life consumes your entire life, then you are destined for a huge disappointment when your life finally comes to its end.

Into each individuals life come the final moments of your life.  Don’t wait until then to figure out that you have done virtually nothing day after day to enhance or improve your life and relationship with God.  But instead have engaged in numerous hours and days and weeks and months and years doing meaningless activities.

The ultimate time when all of the many details of life will disappear, while yet most of the population remains alive to witness the disappearance, will be during the end of the Tribulation.

We have already studied, in our Revelation study, how people will mourn the loss of their daily secular life. And they will mourn their losses even in the midst of that future worldwide destruction.

Then and now, priorities are mixed up among people around the world.

And even in the face of this blatant statement that all things temporary, all things of this world, all things upon which you focus your day to day attention, will vanish, and yet people will still spend all of their time on the worldly, rather than on the spiritual.
