Psalm 14:5
5 There were they in great [pachad] fear: [pachad] for God ['elohiym] is in the generation [dowr]
of the righteous. [tsaddiyq]KJV-Interlinear
5 There
they are in great dread, For God is with the righteous generation. NASB
There is no human being
that is good, nor can any human being be the source of good. Regardless of what you think of yourself, your
best day is never going to be any better than a pile of doggie doo-doo.
Isaiah described mans
righteousness as filthy rags. And we
have already studied what exactly those rags are – filthy, dusty, dirty, used
and reused disgusting, menstrual rags as were used in his day.
So, boasting about how
noble and sincere and good you are, is in fact boasting about something that is
pretty revolting.
However, there is a way
out of this predicament, but it is not and never will be, by way of mans efforts,
attitudes, inventions, imaginations, or opinions.
And that way is through
only one person, Jesus Christ.
Alone, you are nothing
more than a lump of dust (biological), in which resides biological life. This dust comes from the elements of the
earth. This is the process that continues
with, and begins with, pregnancy, at conception. For the seed of that man and the seed of the
woman continue the cycle of biology throughout each individuals life as some
seed is used, while most is flushed away as waste.
Added to that dust is
something that did not come from humans – the soul. The soul is the vessel that comes from God. God creates the soul, man does not. God inserts human life into the soul, man
does not. Only God places and removes
life, man does neither.
This process is described
in Genesis as ‘neshemah,’ or the breath of life, or the spark of life. This occurs at the point of human birth, and
is evidenced when the infant takes its very first breath. God exhales, and man inhales life.
When death occurs, the
soul along with its resident human life (that is the real you), leaves the
body. The body remains behind and rots
and returns to the dust from whence it came (flushed away). The soul returns to
God from whence it came.
The third part of the
human essence, occurs only when the individual believes in Christ. At which time God then creates yet another
vessel, the human spirit, into which He imputes eternal life. Man yet again, has nothing to do with this
new creation, causing man to be born again. Man was born a first time and
received soul life. Man is born a second
time and receives eternal life.
The human spiritual attaches
itself to the soul and there remains permanent forever.
Eventually the physical
body is replaced with a resurrected body (one not of dust), and so the person
is totally of Gods creation. Nothing of
this earth remains in the persons essence.
All unbelievers lack a
human spirit because they have not believed in Christ. They then lack eternal life, and thus do not qualify
to live with God forever, but will be relegated to the Lake of Fire when the
last judgment occurs (the Great White Throne).
Being lost forever, is
the worst possible situation that a person can have. There is no life, no happiness, but only
fear, insecurity, terror, pain, suffering and worse, forever. There is no hope, and no comfort.
Deep down inside, all
unbelievers know that to be true. They
have nothing onto which they can hold, that will give them assurance of a
better life. The have believed in lies,
pursued lies, taunted the faithful and mocked life in general, and in reality
they mock themselves.
The only thing that remains
certain for unbelievers is fear, unquenchable, uncontrollable, and unimaginable
fear. A shaking, trembling fear that
will last forever.
And who is to blame? Each person who rejects Christ is to blame
for their own failure.
How can a person refuse
to think six little words, for their entire life, is difficult to imagine. ‘Father I believe in Jesus Christ.’ And yet stubborn defiance keeps people from
believing this single thought that is so easy to do.
But by the same token,
stubborn defiance and arrogance, prevents believers from a daily Bible study,
which too, is so easy to do.
The difference between
being saved and unsaved is infinite. Heaven versus the Lake of Fire.
The difference between
spiritual maturity and spiritual immaturity, is likewise infinite. Blessings beyond imagination versus little if
any blessings.
Fear drives unbelievers
and they lose eternal life. Stupidity
drives negative believers and they lose blessings.
And again who is to
blame? Each individual is to blame for
their own failure. Why?
Because God is in the
generation of the righteous. Who is
righteous?
Believers because they
have been saved, having received the imputation of Gods righteousness when they
believed in Christ. And beyond that,
spiritually mature believers who advance to maturity, by learning and
understanding and using doctrine throughout their life.
God is truth. You cannot know truth unless you learn it. You cannot learn it unless you listen and
hear and study and use it.
The easiest truth is the
gospel, which you hear and then believe. The daily commitment to doctrine is
your next mandated step to the completion of your life. That is if you really want a God designed
completion of yourself.
Which by the way, humanity
cannot do on their own either.
Your entire life, from beginning
to its end, your entire essence from birth to eternity, your entire completion
through and through, comes from God and God alone.
God gets all of the
credit, you deserve no credit. You have
only but to want the greatest gift of all, in order to receive it, and then
pursue it as God has outlined the spiritual growth process.
