2 Timothy 3:9
9 But [alla] they shall proceed [prokopto] no [ou] further [epi]: [pleion] for [gar] their [autos] folly [anoia] shall be [esomai] manifest [ekdelos] unto all [pas] men, as [hos] theirs [ekeinos] also [kai] was. [ginomai] KJV-Interlinear
9 But they
will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, as also
that of those two came to be. NASB
God has a leash on
history. No one can shorten or lengthen
it. And that is especially true for
spiritually dysfunctional people.
Whether the person is
an unbeliever or a spiritually negative believer, makes no difference.
Both Jannes and
Jambres, although notable in history in their connection with the ten plagues
in Egypt, opposed truth, but their opposition had its limits. God allowed them to go so far, and then no
further.
In the last century,
Hitler and Stalin and Mao and many others tried as they may, to destroy people and
life in general, but their attempts had a limit and they were all contained and
eventually eliminated.
Even in our current
year, Osama, the notable terrorist who had eluded capture for so many years,
finally got his due and is now at the bottom of the ocean somewhere.
Evil raises its head
and sooner or later it gets chopped off.
And those folks had the
resources of Pharaoh, of nations, of religion, and yet they still all ended up
cut off.
This is not limited to
only historical figures, but certainly applies to lesser people who will never
make it in the history books.
The gossips, the
deceivers, the maligners and more, all great and small, will end up the same exact
way, in failure and cut off.
If you number yourself
with that group, then you know your destiny. If you believe that you are
better, but are in effect negative toward Gods will, then you are exactly like
them and no better.
Any and all disregard
for Gods mandates, any indifference toward the spiritual life as it is
portrayed properly in the scriptures, any rejection or attempt to pick and
choose, all of these and more, are exactly the same. They are wicked and evil to the core, even if
seemingly innocent.
The destiny of evil is
always the same. Their true identity and
purpose will be revealed and their efforts regardless of their resources or
lack of them, will fail.
Even though evil runs a
seemingly long course, from years to even decades, the result will always be
the same, suffering for many and failure for those who instigate it all.
For those who persevere
through it all and stick with their true purpose in doctrine, then the
suffering will all be turned for blessing and rewarded beyond imagination.
