2 Timothy 3:13

13 But [de] evil [poneros] men [anthropos] and [kai] seducers [goes] shall wax [prokopto] worse and worse [epi], [cheiron] deceiving, [planao] and [kai] being deceived. [planao]KJV-Interlinear

13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. NASB

Evil men, refers to the negative crowd, to those who are spiritually indifferent toward truth.

Remember there is only one spirituality, only one truth, only one God, only one savior, only one Christian life.  There are not several configurations of these things, or definitions of convenience from which people can pick and choose.

Evil comes in all shapes and sizes, from unbelievers as well as believers.  From unbelievers in that they just have not seized hold of the opportunity that God has provided.  And as for believers, the failure is in that they have the opportunity, but ignore it by pursuing something better, or so they think.

And this is all due to a lack of knowledge and understanding, which is all due to a lack of interest in learning.

And so, evil continues and continues and continues.  And just as evil is often times symbolized as a piece of rotten meat which only gets worse, so too, evil only gets worse and worse, and the stink never goes away.

Evil people, or those who lack a spiritual awareness, cannot see their own flaws.  They deceive themselves by pursuing lies.  They deceive others by trying to interact with others while living in lies.

The life in the evil world is one of pursuing a life, while struggling in an environment that has no substance or future.

And while believers who are positive toward a legitimate spiritual life, have to suffer by default in a wicked world, but still hold on to their certain destiny and ultimate success, then spiritually dysfunctional people keep pursuing nothing and will gain nothing, and will have nothing, but they just do not see it.

God provides us all three things in life to help us succeed. He gave us life, doctrine and volition. The life is there, the doctrine is there, but you still have to choose it and want it and pursue it.  So any failure is your failure and no one else's.
