Psalm 11:3

Psalm 11:3

3 If the foundations [shathah] be destroyed, [harac] what can the righteous [tsaddiyq] do [pa`al]? KJV-Interlinear

3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?"  NASB

The earlier statement was made, ‘Run!’

But where does one run?

The foundation is the solid footing on which all structures are constructed.  The greater the foundation, the greater the strength and longevity of the structure that is built upon it.

Doctrine is the ultimate support foundation for all of creation.

Anything apart from doctrine and truth, is no foundation at all.

Doctrine stands and upholds all things.  Lack of doctrine holds up nothing.

The world argues that you can run away and find refuge and support and better things elsewhere.  But that is a lie.

So the question is asked, ‘If the foundation of life is destroyed, then what is left?’

And the obvious answer is, ‘Nothing.’  And so it is with your spiritual life.

If you ignore or disregard doctrine in your life, then what is it that you really have?  And if you have the least bit of discernment within you, then you know that you have nothing.

But unfortunately most folks who have nothing spiritually, do not know it.

Remember that having nothing in the spiritual life has nothing to do with your worldly possessions.  A billionaire can have nothing spiritually just as a peasant who lacks doctrine in their soul, has nothing spiritually.

In either case, neither are protected from the limitations of humanity in this life, namely sin and death.  Neither can buy their way out, nor wish their way out of life’s ultimate limitations.

So, doctrine is the foundation, the only true foundation in life, for life.  If you pretend or disregard or are indifferent toward doctrine, then you have nothing and you are fooling only yourself.

If you want a real and meaningful and complete life, then you can only acquire that by means of a daily study of Bible doctrine.  The foundation of doctrine in your soul forms the basis for the real you.
