Romans 8:3
3 For [gar] what the law [nomos] could not do [adunatos], in [en] that [hos] it was weak [astheneo] through [dia] the flesh [sarx], God [theos] sending [pempo] his own [heautou] Son [huios] in [en] the likeness [homoioma] of sinful [hamartia] flesh [sarx], and [kai] for [peri] sin [hamartia], condemned [katakrino] sin [hamartia] in [en] the flesh [sarx]: KJV-Interlinear
3 For God has done what the law,
weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of
sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, ESV
God has provided salvation and eternal life by means
of His work on the cross, and made available to us, through faith.
The Mosaic law identifies the perfect life, however
the flesh, being weakened by the sin nature, prevents that perfect life.
Since no man was able to live the perfect life, and
therefore qualify as a legitimate sacrifice in payment for sin, then God had to
become man, which means God became the likeness of man, in order to do what the
common man is incapable of doing.
Jesus Christ, is God.
Jesus Christ was born as a human male, in order to
live among humanity as a man.
Jesus Christ was exposed to sin, while in the flesh,
but never succumbed to sin.
Therefore, Jesus Christ condemned sin, while in the
flesh, and then fulfill the payment in full of sin, while in the flesh.
And this is a work that no other human being is capable
of doing.
Jesus was born an infant baby, He grew up for thirty
years to adulthood, He conducted His ministry for three-and-a-half-years beyond
that, He suffered heart aches and pressures and temptations galore, even being
nailed to the cross. And He never committed even a single sin.
He conducted His life in perfection.
He fulfilled His work in perfection.
And He is the only person that was qualified for, and
capable of, completing the work of salvation.
