Ephesians 2:18

18 For [hoti] through [dia] him [autos] we [echo] both [amphoteros] have [echo] access [prosagoge] by [en] one [heis] Spirit [pneuma] unto [pros] the Father. [pater] KJV-Interlinear

18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. NASB

Through Christ, who is the only means of access to God, then all people have access to the Father, or better stated the potential access, so long as they approach the Father, through Christ, but in one spirit.

The spirit is the one and single spirit, which is a reference to the Holy Spirit.

Access, means to have an introduction, to approach, to receive an audience with.

The Father is the ultimate contact within the deity of God.

God is the highest of living beings.  He is the ultimate sovereign and authority in all of existence.  He possesses all power, and ability, but at the same time, is perfect in righteousness and perfect in justice.  He is incapable of sinning, and able to not sin.  God has perfect self-control, without error.  He sees all, knows all, and nothing gets past him.

To be in association with God, is the ultimate opportunity that exists.

All religion seeks to be as God, or to be equal with God, such that man and God can meet on equal terms.

However, man is not equal and never will be. Man, only in his arrogance presumes that he has that capability, and so man invents his own tower or stairway, to heaven, to meet God and to prove God wrong.  Man invents his own rules for life, despite his lack of information about life.

The greatest part of life, exists in the spiritual world and one cannot know about that region unless one enters into it.  And there is but one way to enter into the spiritual world and that is through Christ, by means of the Holy Spirit.

This verse clarifies this very important principle.  You cannot approach God on your own terms.  You cannot approach God based on emotion or sincerity or loud or long prayers.  You cannot approach God by any other means other than through Christ and by the Holy Spirit.

By Christ, requires salvation by means of faith in Christ.  Christ is the single door, through which you may enter and approach God. The Holy Spirit is the power or the mechanism through which your spiritual life functions.

You must be under the power of the Holy Spirit in order for your spiritual life to function.  That power cannot be detected, nor measured, nor felt, nor experienced in any way.   The spiritual world is not accessible by means of the physical world.  The only method of gaining the power and control of the Holy Spirit, is through confession of your sins to the Father.  This is called being in fellowship, 1 Jn. 1.

Committing a sin causes you to lose your fellowship status.  Confession returns you into your fellowship status.

Therefore, all religions, all other approaches, all inventions of man for approaching God, are false and lies.

There is only one means of access to God and that is through Christ, by means of the Holy Spirit.
