Psalm 9:3

Copyright Ó 2011 J. Neely
Psalm 9:3

3 When mine enemies ['oyeb] are turned [shuwb] back, ['achowr] they shall fall [kashal] and perish ['abad] at thy presence. [paniym] KJV-Interlinear

3 When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before Thee. NASB

Anyone who turns themselves against truth, loves this world, disregards God, disregards their spiritual life, compromises or tries to redefine truth, and so forth, is an enemy of God, Jas. 4:4.

All lies cannot stand on their own.

Truth needs no support in order for it to stand on its own.

Lies need convincing, deception, compromise, hidden agendas in order for them to succeed.

Truth needs no such hidden things, but stands out in the open and is visible for all to see and examine.

Therefore, when confronted by truth, which is the same as being confronted by God, then all that is in opposition to God, fails.

Under examination, all lies fail.  Under examination, all deceptions crumble away.  Under the light of truth, all enemies are turned back, forced to retreat, made to run to the darkness.

Therefore, when you deny God, deny your spiritual life, are indifferent toward God, Christ, doctrine, your spiritual life, then you are an enemy, and your life is destined to failure.  That is not a maybe, but a certainty.

As you advance through your years of life, regardless of your success or circumstances, you are merely advancing toward your inevitable failure.

Rejection, defiance, indifference toward God and doctrine, makes that person an enemy.

You live outside of the fellowship sphere, you do not advance in your spiritual life because you do not learn, do not understand, and therefore do not grow.

As goes this life, so goes your eternal life.  Failure in this life, spiritual failure, means failure to receive the rewards in the next life, that are intended for those who advance spiritually in this life.

Your success has nothing to do with your physical circumstances.  Billionaires can fail spiritually just as those who are in poverty can fail spiritually.  Financial circumstances are irrelevant to the spiritual life.

When enemies turn, and that is a certainty, then their destiny is spiritual failure and spiritual loss.
