to them that turn [shuwb] the battle [milchamah] to the gate [sha`ar]. KJV-Interlinear
6 and a spirit of justice to him
who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the
gate. ESV
Unfortunately too many are Christians in word but not
in deed. They are shallow, hypocritical,
complaining, opinionated, and the worst of it is that they enjoy the greatest
of opportunities ever made available to mankind, but squander them because of
their empty faith.
Here we see more of that which is made available to
man, by Christ.
Yesterday’s study saw the success of spiritual
advancement, and the victory of victories, as a result.
And today we see the spirit of judgment and the
courage that accompanies it, to face the long odds that are always set against
life.
We will soon see the failure that will result in spite
of all of this.
But first, the spirit of judgment and courage.
The spirit of judgment is the ability to discern. This is not a judge on the bench, but the
clarity of thought and ability to see reality, made possible by Bible doctrine. Without it, namely doctrine, then no one has
any ability to see through the fog of life.
One has to study and receive instruction, in order to learn and in order
to understand.
Isn’t there a proverb addressing this principle?
When Christ returns and sets up His kingdom, His
wisdom will set the pattern for life for the final 1000 years of history. Justice will be fair.
But more important, people will learn, and know the
real from the phony.
And then there is the courage of life which comes only
from truth, and from doctrine resident in the soul. Which again, has to be learned before it gets
into the soul.
Failing to see this pattern, especially when the Bible
repeats and repeats the principles, is the biggest failure that anyone can have
in their life.
If one were to apply blonde jokes to the human race,
for hearing but not hearing doctrine, then that would be the best illustration
of human failure. I shudder to wonder of
anyone understands this point, instead of being offended, which is the reaction
that one would expect, but proving the whole point.
