Psalm 34:4
4 I sought [darash] the LORD [Yahovah], and he heard [`anah] me,
and delivered [natsal] me from all my fears [maguwrah]. KJV-Interlinear
4
I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. ESV
Too often people look to
their own devices for the answers that they seek and for the relief that they
want, but none of mans plans, none of your plans, will get you your intended
result.
Live your life without
God, without Christ, without doctrine, and you will end up with nothing or
perhaps even worse.
Bible doctrine is your
access to God through Christ. The Holy
Spirit is the means. Christ is the
path. Bible doctrine is the method that
we have of knowing all that we need to know, to see clearly all that we need to
see, and to get oriented to life.
Your soul is an empty
vacuum into which will flow whatever the world offers, or whatever doctrine you
pursue.
David sought the
Lord. Sought, ‘darash,’ means to pursue
with a passion, with genuine desire as you would pursue gold or precious
treasure, or even a member of your family that is near and dear to you. What is there in your life that is important enough,
to set everything aside and pursue relentlessly, without hesitation, without quitting?
That is where Bible doctrine
should be in your life’s priorities.
And through doctrine in
your soul, which by the way you have to learn before it gets into your soul,
but through doctrine in your soul, everything in life opens up wide with
clarity and purpose.
You may not be the
brightest light bulb in the lamp, but God guides you to the answers you need to
make, through the doctrine resident in your soul.
No doctrine? No guidance.
Make learning Bible doctrine
your priority and then everything else in this life in this world, will take
its natural place concerning you.
Don’t learn doctrine, don’t
pursue a daily study, continue to play pretend games and fool only yourself,
and you will end up with nothing.
There are always two
paths before you, one leads you to success and the other leads you to
failure. God does not force you to take
either path, but He certainly makes recommendations and warns of
repercussions. But your choices, your
daily choices will reveal which path you choose for your life.
