Isaiah 24:2

Copyright Ó 2014 J. Neely
Isaiah 24:2

2 And it shall be, as with the people [`am], so with the priest [kohen]; as with the servant [`ebed], so with his master ['adown]; as with the maid [shiphchah], so with her mistress [gabereth]; as with the buyer [qanah], so with the seller [makar]; as with the lender [lavah], so with the borrower [lavah]; as with the taker of usury [nashah], so ['aher] with the giver of usury [nasha'] to him.   KJV-Interlinear

2 And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the slave, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.    ESV

The simplest explanation of this verse is that, no one is exempt from the judgment of God, when it comes.  Everyone is free to be stupid and ignore Gods mandates.  Not the common people, not the so called priest of noble character.

Character will not provide an escape.  Sincerity will not provide an escape.  Good intentions will not provide an escape.  Pretending will not provide an escape.

Not the servant, not the higher class.  Station in life will not provide an escape.

Business is not a ticket out.  No one and nothing will provide an escape for the coming judgment of God.

So anyone, at the end time or even now in our current day, thinking that they may have a way out of Gods hands because of their rank, or possessions, or station in life, will be greatly mistaken.

There is only one way out of the judgments of God and that way is by means of compliance with Gods word.

It will be true in the end days of history, it is true today in the normal and ordinary lives of people now.

But unfortunately, today, people do not seem to have any genuine respect or regard for Gods word, or of the seriousness that it has upon ones personal life.

Each one of us was placed in this world for a reason.  God decided that reason.

Each one of us was placed in the circumstances that we are in, for a reason.  God decided that reason.

Even though our own decisions may have put us where we are, it was God who allowed it, and who has known our entire life since eternity past.

We can either make the best of it and comply with His will and be the better for it, or we can fight against our situation or ignore our situation, or take our condition for granted, and ultimately lose everything.

There is no shortage of stubbornness in this world. There is no shortage of stupidity in this world.  And you can certainly pursue both to the best of your ability if you wish.

But, there is a better way, and that way is through pursuit of Gods word, learning and growing up spiritually, and complying with all of the obligations and responsibilities that go with that.  And, then coming through and out of this life with phenomenal success.

But of course you have to decide, and you have to decide each and every day of your life, which way you are going to go.
