Psalm 24:5
5 He shall receive [nasa'] the blessing [Barakah] from
the LORD, [Yahovah] and righteousness [tsadaqah] from the God ['elohiym] of
his salvation. [yesha`]KJV-Interlinear
5 He
shall receive a blessing from the Lord And righteousness from the God of his
salvation. NASB
One must live a pattern
of life that is pure, but not pure in the sense that you are probably thinking.
Purity was defined in the
previous verse.
The soul or rather the
content of the soul, directs the working of ones hands, of ones spoken
words. What is in your soul determines
the actions and directions and results and pattern of your life.
It is not the other way
around. Your works, your words, do not
direct your soul. Your soul directs the
pattern of your entire life.
If you have false
thinking, then your actions and opinions will inevitably be false, even
deceitful if you try to fool others as to your true nature.
But the person who abides
by the defined spiritual pattern spelled out in the previous verse, it is he or
she, who receives the blessings from God.
Blessing, here refers to favor.
And righteousness, is
Gods righteousness not mans self-righteousness.
This does not mean that
you are given the gift of righteousness.
What it does mean is that God looks upon you as a righteous person. Or that is to say, that you are conducting
yourself in a manner in which He has defined as righteousness.
This is not works,
because that is man defined. What it is,
is abiding in a spiritual sphere that God defines, and which we call being in
fellowship.
Confession of ones sins,
is the recognition process of ones own failures and transgressions, just as
faith in Christ recognizes Him as the Savior.
Accepting these truths, then allows God to wash away all of your filth
(sin), and thus look upon you as clean. This
is the status of fellowship wherein God forgives and cleanses and restores, 1
Jn. 1:9.
The God of your
salvation, is plural, ‘elohiym,’ which refers to all three members of the
Godhead, who were all involved in some aspect of the planning, execution, and
sustaining of His divine plan, not only for salvation but your overall spiritual
life.
Therefore, Gods favor
goes to those who comply with His standards and procedures, not your ideas of
convenience, tradition, culture, sincerity, works, etc.
Therefore, Gods
righteousness is respected in each individual who complies with His defined
plan, not yours.
Note, that when you
believe in Christ, Gods righteousness is imputed to you through salvation. This makes you justified and redeemed and
cleansed at that moment of salvation. But
when you commit a sin, then you fall out of fellowship and need to confess in
order to be restored into fellowship.
God is a respecter of His
essence and attributes, not mans. God
respects His righteousness and justice and work, etc., not mans.
Therefore, when these are
efficacious within you, then God respects you on the basis of His terms in you,
not your terms.
God looks in you and if
He sees doctrine in use, installed, functioning as it were, then God sees His
own righteousness in you and bestows His favor and therefore blessings, on you
based on His attributes in you.
In effect, God blesses
His attributes and you benefit by virtue of having them functioning inside of
you.
God is truth, His target
is truth, and you benefit by your relationship with truth.
