Psalm 18:50

Psalm 18:50

50 Great [gadal] deliverance [yashuw`ah] giveth he to his king; [melek] and sheweth [`asah] mercy [checed] to his anointed, [mashiyach] to David, [David] and to his seed [zera`] for [`ad] evermore. [`owlam] KJV-Interlinear

50 He gives great deliverance to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever. NASB

Deliverance, ‘yashuwah,’ means salvations and is in the plural referring to the many times that God has intervened in Davids behalf, and delivered him out of predicaments that he found himself in from time to time.

King, is the title that God gave to David.  It was God who appointed David as King, when David was still watching the sheep, as a child.  It was God who anointed David formerly to become king, after the death of Saul.

David did not appoint himself, nor anoint himself.  And while David found himself on the battlefield many times, it was God who protected him from harm and preserved his life.

That makes it possible for David to have a family and descendants, who in turn will have their opportunity to be blessed by God, if they make the right choices in their individual lives.

And as for you. In eternity past, God looked down through the tunnel of time and saw you and your belief in Christ and thus predestined you as a believer due to your independent decision to believe.  And in time, when you were in this world and actually expressed your faith in Christ, then God elected you formally into His family as the actual event of your faith had occurred.

You too will have descendants, whether they be your actual children, or other people who will be saved or blessed due to some influence you might have on their life, and thus your offspring so to speak.

No person in this life lives independently of everyone else.  There is always some form of activity that connects us all, whether directly or indirectly.  As a member of Gods family, we are all interconnected as a part of a larger whole, and thus we all are affected in some fashion by every other member of the family.  That affect, being in part, the vastness of Gods blessing for His entire family for all of eternity.

And while we live in this devils world, with evil swirling all around, we are delivered many times throughout our lives, many of which we may never know about. This gives us ample time to pursue our spiritual lives as God intends for us, and to achieve a completion for ourselves, that none of us on our own could ever come close to accomplishing.

Live your life on your own and regardless of your successes in this world, you will never be greater than a spiritually destitute person.

Live your life as God intends, and pursue your spiritual life in the correct fashion, and you will become a multi-multi-trillionaire, spiritually speaking for all of eternity.

Which do you suppose would be better to have forever?
