Psalm 9:14

Psalm 9:14

14 That I may shew forth [caphar] all thy praise [tahillah] in the gates [sha`ar] of the daughter [bath] of Zion: [Tsiyown] I will rejoice [giyl] in thy salvation. [yashuw`ah] KJV-Interlinear

14 That I may tell of all Thy praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Thy salvation. NASB

Daughter, 'bath', to make children, repair, make, build (as in 'banah', build), feminine of 'ben', one born to, offspring.

A daughter is an offspring of a parent. God created each of our lives, our human lives at the point of our physical birth when the spark of life, 'neshamah' was exhaled from God and inhaled into our soul. He is the source of our eternal rebirth when eternal life is imputed by God into our human spirit. God formed Adam from the dust of the earth, thus initiating our biological life process, a process which we continue via sex and the perpetuation of the human race. But we do not create life. God alone does that.

So God is the parent of mankind in its creation, and He is the parent of believers when we believe in Jesus Christ and are entered into His personal spiritual family becoming sons of God, and when we fulfill our role as the bride of Christ in the period following the rapture.

We have already seen the meaning of Zion, basically the foundation of Bible doctrine, but we here have the reference of 'daughter of Zion,' the offspring, the female offspring of doctrine. The gates being the accesses each believer has to Bible doctrine, for God does not restrict us from doctrine when we are positive.

So 'daughter' has a special meaning. Daughter is female. I'm sure we all caught that real quick, but we are not all females. Some of you out there are female, but some of you are male, as I am. This reference is to the characteristics of the feminine role in life.

Quick look at females vs. males. Males represent the concept of the aggressor, the authority, the one who stands out in front in times of trouble and protects his family. The female concept is that of responder, of nurturer, the one who stands in support of her male counterpart. The female plays the subordinate role, obedient to authority. Now don't get defensive ladies. This feminine concept applies to us all, both male and female, with respect to our spiritual lives.

God is the authority. We are the ones to be obedient to Him, without question. He gives us wisdom and we respond in the sense of the feminine response to her authority partner, and this is a sexual response. You'll have to use your imagination to picture in your own minds the sexual act and the respective roles each man and woman plays in sex. As the woman opens herself to her man, so likewise we open our soul to Gods word, receiving it into our innermost self.

We respond to God as a daughter, a female offspring. Responding and submitting to our parent in an intimate fashion. Learning Bible doctrine is intimate and private between God and each one of us. God fills our soul with life and vitality, Bible doctrine.

That we might 'tell' and 'rejoice' in Bible doctrine the source of our salvation, the source of our spiritual growth to spiritual maturity. We tell others when the subject comes up in conversation. We feel good inside when we comprehend the magnitude of what we have from Bible doctrine. This good feeling is true inner happiness, not a pseudo happiness as experienced by negative people, people without Bible doctrine in their souls.

Salvation is not only deliverance from sin and death and a guarantee of eternal life with God in heaven, but it is also deliverance from ignorance, deliverance from the false concepts and false conclusions that general public opinion or human philosophies provide.

Truth is revealed to us. Light replaces the darkness of ignorance that the world can provide, and the world can only provide darkness. The world cannot provide light, or truth. Only God can provide that.

Therefore, we can only praise (study, learn, grow) during our life.  There is no praise concept after death.  The dead cannot study, learn or grow.

We praise at the gates of doctrine, which is life.  We do not stand at the gates of death (sin and evil or the world) in order to gain life.  Sin and evil and the world (human philosophies) do not possess life in any form.

We praise (study and live) in the gates (the place of access or entrance) of Zion, which is the body of doctrine. As the daughter (offspring) by means of spiritual growth, from within salvation.

Once saved we have access to the spiritual life through fellowship, which is made available through regular confession.  And while in fellowship, we have access to doctrine and through study and learning, we grow up in our spiritual life.

We therefore are the offspring or product of God.  He makes and completes us.  We do not make or complete ourselves.

In very simple terms, you are a spark of life, repeat a spark, imputed by God into dust, and you are nothing more than that, until or unless God makes your something more.
