Revelation 19:1
1 And [kai] after [meta] these things [tauta] I heard [akouo] a great [megas] voice [phone] of much [polus] people [ochlos] in [en] heaven, [ouranos] saying, [lego] Alleluia; [allelouia] Salvation, [soteria] and [kai] glory, [doxa] and [kai] honour, [time] and [kai] power, [dunamis] unto the Lord [kurios] our [hemon] God: [theos] KJV-Interlinear
1 After these things I heard, as it were, a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God; NASB
After these things, introduces a new vision. After the total defeat and destruction of evil, namely Babylon and/or Satan’s plan.
Note that there are still events of the Tribulation that have not yet been covered. But what this chapter begins with, is the celebration that will occur once the Tribulation has concluded.
Some might think that the celebration of the defeat of evil is somewhat insensitive, and not in the spirit of good sportsmanship. But that very concept is an evil and false concept that portrays that no harm will ever come out of the existence of evil. And that is not the case. All of evil is set toward the objective of destruction of good in every respect. However, evils destructive goals, will fall upon its own head as we have studied in the Psalm 7.
Even that cute little ‘coexist’ banner made up of religious symbols that you can often times see on car bumpers, is a symbol of worship at the idol of stupidity. Only naïve people will fall for such false gestures of evil.
And as a result, all of heaven will celebrate not necessarily at the destruction of evil, but at its removal and the removal of its threat against salvation and blessing and so forth.
Throughout the Old Testament, praise of God is described as a result of the victory of good over evil.
Hallelujah is first presented in the Old Testament in Psa. 104, and then here in the New Testament. It means praise God.
And when Satan and his plans have been defeated and removed, then all of heaven will raise their collective voices in praise, and that means angels and believers from throughout history, numbering all together perhaps into the many, many tens or hundreds of trillions of voices.
That will be a cheer that will never be matched prior to that victory moment.
With the threat removed, then salvation will be finally completed and thus historically certain.
