Psalm 7:16
16 His mischief [`amal] shall return [shuwb] upon his own head, [ro'sh] and his violent [chamac] dealing shall come down [yarad] upon his own pate. [qodqod] KJV-Interlinear
16 His mischief will return upon his own head, And his violence will descend upon his own pate. NASB
The word or pate, ‘qodqod,’ means the crown of the head, or the top of the head. And in essence this verse states that all that the wicked person does, will fall right back on top of himself.
Understand that God created the universe and our world to be inhabited, and specifically to be inhabited by believers.
Satan came along and stole the world from Adam, and from humanity through Adam.
Unbelievers by default follow the same pattern of Satan’s actions in that they seek to have that which was never designed for them. Their inheritance is the Lake of Fire.
Nonetheless, unbelievers in all that they do, are in effect, taking that which does not belong to them. Likewise, all that they do is destined for destruction. They have to destroy believers in order to take what they want, from believers who have rightful ownership. As we get deeper into the book of Isaiah, that principle will become more apparent.
Unfortunately for unbelievers, all that they do, in opposition to believers and Gods plan, will come right back on themselves, and they in effect destroy themselves, rather than their intended victims. They become the victim of their own actions.
As for believers who are negative toward their spiritual life, they too, imitate unbelievers in that they live in a carnal sphere rather than in their spiritual sphere, and thus are attempting to take that which is intended for mature believers.
They too, will lose out, not on salvation, but on the additional eternal rewards that could have been theirs, but will be forfeit, due to their indifference and failure in advancing in their spiritual life.
Eternity is a long time, and to lose out on something forever, means a loss of infinite proportions.
Any energy of the flesh activity gains nothing. Only spiritual activity becomes efficacious for the individual.
And all spiritual activity must be done while in fellowship, in order to be classified for spiritual production.
