Psalm 8:1
1 To the chief Musician [natsach] upon Gittith, [Gittiyth] A Psalm [mizmowr] of David. [David]
O LORD [Yahovah] our Lord, ['adown] how excellent ['addiyr] is thy name [shem] in all the earth ['erets]! who hast set [nathan] thy glory [howd] above the heavens. [shamayim] KJV-Interlinear

O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth, Who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens! NASB
Gittith is in the feminine form referring to a harp like instrument.
This is a psalm of overwhelming praise, such as can only be expressed by a woman with a deep and enduring and unshakable love and appreciation for something done for her especially when it was and can never be deserved or earned.
God, in all of His majesty and power, is able to create such a phenomenal universe which is so vast and complex, that humanity could never begin to understand even a small portion of the details that make up this universe.
And yet God created man who is lower than the angels and a little higher than animals, and placed them on this single planet in all the universe, and has given to man, who is made of dust and amounts to nothing, an inheritance of all of the universe one day.
And such a gift, undeserved, and unearned, is infinitely beyond anything imaginable to the mind of man.
And so the psalm is dedicated to Him who has done so much for we who are so small.
Jehovah is the personal name for One whom we have no right to call by His name, and yet we are given that right.
His majesty is so phenomenal and infinite that we cannot even begin to understand nor comprehend it.
God has made His essence and existence known in all that exists, and yet man generally does not even see that which is right in front of his own nose.
For people see only the temporal world in front of them, and fail to look beyond into the spiritual realm. Blinded by all of their troubles or lusts, people fail to see the vast significance of Gods gift which extends into eternity.
Consider for a moment, that were it not for Gods grace, humanity would have become extinct long ago from war or disease or failed crops, or illness and such. And yet lacking our modern technology and science, humanity has lived on this planet for thousands of years and has thrived.
Today we can’t seem to get along without a cell phone or fast foods. And the art of cooking and canning and even basic sewing are all but lost among the latest generation of young folks.
Emphasizing the carnal aspects of life, humanity has lost track of God, who made them, and of His plan for which they were made.
But this psalm is a genuine praise from one (spiritually mature), who recognizes the realities of life and the true purpose and destiny for which God has brought us into this world.
