1 Timothy 6:16

16 Who [ho] only [monos] hath [echo] immortality, [athanasia] dwelling [oikeo] in the light [phos] which no man [oudeis] can approach unto; [aprositos] whom [hos] no man [anthropos] hath seen, [eido] nor [oude] can [dunamai] see: [eido] to whom [hos] be honour [time] and [kai] power [kratos] everlasting. 16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen. NASB
God alone is immortal. The word for immortality, ‘athanasia,’ means deathless. God is incapable of death. There has never been a time when God has not lived. He is life. He is eternal. There has never been a time when God has not existed. And this reference is to the Father, Son and Spirit, all three members of the Godhead.
The humanity of Jesus was born into this world, but the deity of Jesus has always lived since eternity past, and will continue into the future into eternity.
Man and angel have been created or born into life. Their respective lives will continue forever.
However, man is subject to death of several types – physical death, spiritual death (unbeliever), carnal death (out of fellowship), sexual death (lack of sexual ability in old age), the second death (committed to the Lake of Fire), and so forth.
God not only lives forever, but He possesses the source and power of life.
Man and angel do not possess this power of life, but must receive it from the one who possesses it, namely God. You might add his to your abortion study, as man cannot create human life, but human life is imputed by God and from God alone. Man can only perpetuate biological life (living cells).
God dwells in unapproachable light. Light is truth. Truth is holiness. Holiness is the combination of perfect righteousness and perfect justice.
God is wisdom and into that sphere, man cannot go, nor even approach. Man cannot find God on his own.
If God had not revealed Himself, then man would never have known of His existence. And although there are many religions from history, they all have come about due to distortions of the truth regarding God which had already been revealed since Adam’s time, and none (religions) were ever invented nor originated out from mans own unique imagination. But were invented out of distortions of truth.
No man can see the purity of God. No man can ever gain access to God, on his own merit.
Only God can create a path to Himself, for man to follow. And that path, as we already know, is through faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith is enhanced and developed through the study of Bible doctrine.
God is the only person in existence who possesses honor, and power, and eternal life.
If God be on our side, then there is nothing that can take us out of His sphere of control. For there is nothing in life that can even come close to Gods power, authority, ability, and control.
Jesus Christ controls history. No one else does.
If any man knows God, then he would leave the path of history in Gods hands. However, man has tried to direct the path of history time and time again, but all of mans efforts are in vain, because mans methods are not based on truth, but on mans arrogance (presuming his own truth). And all of those efforts are based on evil (which is the absence of truth).
Man presumes power and authority, however, Christ is the King of kings.
Man presumes priestly intercession to deity, however, Christ is the path to deity. Christ is Lord of lords.
Man presumes to make his own destiny, however, Christ is the ‘bright morning star.’
Anyone who looks to the things in this world, looks to emptiness, a vast and endless territory going nowhere.
Anyone who looks to God, with a legitimate and genuine desire to advance in their spiritual life, will end life and continue into eternity, with phenomenal success (beyond imagination). And ‘beyond imagination’ is more vast than even the universe. It has no boundaries in truth.
