1 Timothy 6:15

15 Which [hos] in his [idios] times [kairos] he shall shew, [deiknuo] who [ho] is the blessed [makarios] and [kai] only [monos] Potentate, [dunastes] the King [basileus] of kings, [basileuo] and [kai] Lord [kurios] of lords; [kurieuo] KJV-Interlinear

15 which He will bring about at the proper time — He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords; NASB

God is the only Sovereign because He alone is God. There is no other god, Deut 4:35,39; 6:4; 32:39; 1 Sam 2:2; 2 Sam 7:22; 22:32; 1 Kings 8:23,60; 2 Kings 19:15,19; 2 Chron 6:14; Neh 9:6; Ps 18:31; 86:10; Isa 37:16,20; 43:10; 44:6,8; 45:5-6,21-22; 46:9; Joel 2:27; 1 Cor 8:4,6.

There is no one to compete, contend, struggle, challenge Him for control of the universe.

"I act," says the Lord, "and who can reverse it" (Isa 43:13)?

"To whom then will you liken Me that I should be his equal?" says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power not one of them is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the Lord, and the justice due me escapes the notice of my God"? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. (Isa 40:25-31)

Gods sovereignty is also designated by the title King of kings and Lord of lords, Deut 10:17; Ps 136:2-3; Dan 2:47. This title describes the person of Jesus Christ, Rev 17:14, 19:16.

Jesus Christ controls history. As God, He has a plan, a master plan which in theology is called the divine decrees. God knows all things. There is nothing that God does not know, and this includes all history, past, present, and future. God does not act or plan haphazardly. Everything that God does, is intentional and well thought out.

God does not cause evil, but has plans to counter evil in every respect.

Nothing that occurs in your life is by accident. Nothing in history occurs by accident. Nothing takes God by surprise. And just as you have a certain number days of life to live, so too, human history has a certain number of days to operate.

While the world seeming has its way with history, in what evil it promotes, such is not the case.

One day, God will call you home, and one day, God will send history into its next phase in accordance with His plan. And, there is nothing that man nor angel can do to counter, change, or alter Gods plan. Although history is full of mans and Satan’s efforts to do just that.

The plans of men and angels will always fail, because they are founded in evil and lies. All evil is based on lies and all lies are not truth.

So, one might wonder, ‘Is it wiser to pursue truth or lies?’ ‘What is the outcome of each?’
