Proverbs 1:26
26 I also will laugh [sachaq] at
your calamity ['eyd]; I
will mock [la`ag] when
your fear [pachad] cometh
[bow']; KJV-Interlinear
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I
will mock when terror strikes you, ESV
If you have ever
been in a position where you know you are right, and someone else believes that
they are right, but in fact they are wrong, and then realize that they are
wrong, then your typical reaction would be one of confident victory.
There are only two
views of life. The first view is the correct view, and the second view is the
incorrect view.
Truth is the first
view. Truth comes from God. Truth is the correct and accurate match-up of facts
with reality. Anything and everything else, is not truth.
This is the Devils
world. Evil is the Devils policy. Evil spends all of its time emphasizing
distractions in everything imaginable in order to redirect people away from truth.
And so people get caught up in the details of life, such as whether to wear
this color or that color, whether someone is smarter or not so smart, whether
to be a part of this group or that group, whether this or that sin is better or
worse than another, and the list goes on and on and on, into every possible and
imaginable subject and category of life.
And people get
caught up in all of these details, and consequently get distracted away from
truth. And therefore their focus and priorities in life, get all mixed up.
God has created a
process by which truth can be learned and understood, and therefore allows a
person to see the real and important things of life, and discern the
differences in life, and realize that eternal life and preparation for it, are
more important than any or all of the details that exist in this world.
The details of
life lead to pettiness and mediocrity, and they lead you to a dead end in your
life.
The details of
Bible doctrine lead you to correct wisdom, and therefore the correct priorities
of life, which are God, and Christ, and your spiritual life, and your eventual
destiny in heaven forever.
And so people run
around through life and through history, with their, I am so right, heads cut
off, and do not realize the error of their ways and the error of their
priorities, until the end of their life.
And they are
hounded and burdened with the calamities of life, never realizing that they are
bringing them all onto themselves.
And wisdom, which
happens to be the subject of these Proverbs, sits back and smiles and laughs at
the ridiculousness of humanity in its distraction from truth, and the calamity consequences
of that mindset.
Making the details
of this life your utmost priority, even to the point of being rigid about those
details, whatever they are, are nothing more than a trap and a distraction away
from truth.
Your destiny is
not in this world, it is in heaven. And ignoring preparation for that correct
destiny, is the ultimate failure of life.
Study [by instruction],
to show thyself
approved [spiritually mature]
unto God,
a workman [student]
that need not be
ashamed [ignorant],
rightly dividing [learning, understanding, discerning]
the word of truth [Bible doctrine].
These
studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org,
