Psalm 40:4

Copyright  2016 J. Neely
Psalm 40:4

4 Blessed ['esher] is that man [geber] that maketh [suwm] the LORD [Yahovah] his trust [mibtach], and respecteth [panah] not the proud [rahab], nor such as turn aside [suwt] to lies [kazab].   KJV-Interlinear

4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! ESV

The word for blessed, esher, is used here as a noun, and refers to something that the individual possesses.

The one who possesses blessings, is the one whose priority in life is making the Lord the center and focus of their trust.

There are only two things that you can focus on in life. The first is truth, which comes from Bible doctrine, and the second is everything else that is not related to truth.

Truth is the only thing that matches facts with reality.

Everything that is not truth, cannot legitimately match facts with reality. All untruths, force a match up, based on bias, based on imagination, based on invention, and based on delusion.

Anything that is not truth, does not deserve respect.
Anything that is not truth, does not deserve recognition.
Anything that is not truth, will only lead to false conclusions, and false decisions, and false reality.
Anything that is not truth, is a guarantee of failure.

Therefore, pursuing truth, means that you must forgo untruth.

Pursuing truth, means that you must learn truth. And learning truth comes only by means of learning Bible doctrine, on a daily basis, from instruction.

The proud, is a reference to those who pursue untruth. Pursuing untruth, is the pursuit of lies. And when a person pursues lies, then by default, they obviously are not aware of truth, because they do not know it, and are unable to discern truth from lies.

A person who does not learn truth, does not know truth, and therefore will go astray, in pursuit of anything and everything that is not truth.

The only way to avoid this mistake, is to learn truth, and that comes only by means of a daily study of Bible doctrine.

Blessings can only be possessed by those who know truth. And truth can only be known by those who learn Bible doctrine on a daily basis.

Blessings cannot be possessed by those who do not know truth.

Therefore, you have to decide whether you are going to learn truth, and thereby come into possession of blessings, or whether you are not going to learn truth, and thereby not possess the blessings from God.

Study [by instruction],
to show thyself approved [spiritually mature]
unto God,
a workman [student]
that need not be ashamed [ignorant],
rightly dividing [learning, understanding, discerning]
the word of truth [Bible doctrine].

These studies are a part of the massive daily study web site at DailyBibeStudy.Org, and are written, so that you can come to Christ if you have not done so already, and therefore not be lost forever.

And if you have already believed in Christ, then these studies are written so you can learn and understand and grow in your spiritual life, so that you can come to the full knowledge of Christ, so that you can fulfill your meaning and purpose in life as God intended for you, and so you can qualify for a phenomenal eternal reward which you will have forever.  To ignore this opportunity to pursue a daily study means you will be incomplete, unfulfilled and you will lose out, big time.

The Daily Bible Study is online, making it possible as never before in all of human history, to advance in ones relationship with God, through Christ, and to complete yourself beyond your imagination.

But you have to decide to make that commitment.  No one else can study for you.  You have to do that yourself.
