Teach me Thy way, O Lord, And lead me in a level path, Because of my foes. NASB
The word for teach. ‘yarah,’
means to flow as water, to rain, to lay or throw as in to shoot an arrow, to
point, to instruct. And this comes to
mean the constant and repetitive teaching required in order to learn properly
and thoroughly and achieve your target.
In all things spiritual,
it is the Holy Spirit who teaches and makes clear the things that are spiritual
and truth. He does this only when the
believer is in fellowship. Anyone
outside of fellowship, whether a believer or an unbeliever, can only learn
academically, the words. It requires
learning while in fellowship in order to obtain the spiritual benefit or that
which is beyond the academics of a concept or subject.
I may write these
studies, but it is the Holy Spirit that conveys the spiritual content and makes
it clear so that you can assimilate and discern both the true nature of these
words, or their fallacy.
I could be feeding you
all sorts of foolishness, and the world is certainly full of folks that will do
just that. But when you are consistent
in your studies, current on your confessions, and thus in fellowship, then the
Holy Spirit takes control and makes all things spiritual, clear and lucid and
discernable.
Time and study helps you
become better and better as sorting out the facts from the fiction of life. And it is the Holy Spirit that paves the way
in all knowledge and understanding and wisdom and finally faith.
I can tell you, but I do
not need to tell you, that liberalism, progressivism, socialism and such things
violate all of the fundamental principles of freedom and liberty in the
functions of life. Sooner or later your
Bible study will lead you to that conclusion and understanding on your own simply
by learning what Gods policies are for humanity and its functions.
I do not have to tell you
because you will eventually learn on your own that God placed vast reservoirs f
many things in this world in order to help man sustain itself throughout
history. Whether those reservoirs are of
natural resources like oil, or the vast wealth of some smart person, makes no
difference, because both serve the greater population by providing energy or
jobs or innovation, or whatever. And
this promotes and sustains humanity where everyone wins.
But there are those who
defy all of this and try as they may, to destroy the principle of reservoirs,
which only leads to burdens and suffering and never benefits.
To be led in plain paths,
is to be led in the simplest understanding of truth, whereas the lies of the
world are complicated webs woven to serve mans many lusts.
And this learning is all
necessary, because the world is, by its very nature, completely against God and
truth.
If you do not know you
are being led astray, then you cannot avoid it and will be swallowed up by the foolishness
of life.
There is only one way to
learn, and that is by pursuing truth daily just as you would seek out a meal or
two every day of your life, but with a genuine desire to learn truth.
What would become of you
if you skipped eating food for decades?
Well, of course you would lose weight and get sick and eventually die.
Your soul is no different
from your physical body. It needs
spiritual nourishment in order to maintain proper health and maturity.
But what goes into your
soul, likewise needs to be truth and not a lie.
The world deceives, and will
deceive if you allow it. Your best
defense is truth. But you have to know
it, and to know it you have to learn it.
And in order to keep from being taken advantage of, you have to keep
current on your truth lest you fall off that simple path and into some pit.
