Ephesians 4:16

16 From [ek] whom [hos] the whole [pas] body [soma] fitly joined together [sunarmologeo] and [kai] compacted [sumbibazo] by [dia] that which every [pas] joint [haphe] supplieth, [epichoregia] according [kata] to the effectual working [energeia] in [en] the measure [metron] of every [hekastos] part [heis], [meros] maketh [poieo] increase [auxesis] of the body [soma] unto [eis] the edifying [oikodome] of itself [heautou] in [en] love. [agape] KJV-Interlinear

16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love. NASB

On the surface this seems to be a difficult verse to understand, but in reality this is a very simple verse to understand.

In summary, all of the parts contribute to the whole and all of the many parts are just as important as any other part of the body or family of God.

There is no insignificant believer.  There is no more significant believer.  All are in Christ and all depend entirely on Christ.  Jesus Christ selects those whom He chooses for His purposes, and He has many purposes and a purpose for every believer.  Christ decides who He will use and how He will use them.  Man has no right to claim credit for their place in history.

Solomon built a temple. Joseph provided a tomb. Mary gave birth to Jesus.  The other Marys wrapped the corpse in spices. Lydia entertained the apostle.  Phoebe carried an epistle of old.  The princes and heroes went to the field.  Wise-hearted women spun.  Joshua fought.  Moses prayed. The snuffers and trays were just as important as the lampstand.  Hundreds of craftsmen did specific tasks in the construction of the Temple.

Each and every person who has ever lived has had a unique ability that God has given specifically to them.  Most never use their abilities to the fullest, because they are lacking in their spiritual lives, but some do utilize their God given abilities.

Whether applicable for ones individual life, or for an entire generation, whether for a small region or for the entire history of humanity, God has a plan, and in that plan He has given gifts and abilities to individuals that perpetuate, sustain, and advance His plan.

Very piece, of Gods plan, every individual has a specific purpose and contribution to that plan as well as their own individual life.

While we all look to ourselves individually, we are all a part of a far greater plan and purpose.  And while we all have different abilities or talents, or capabilities or characteristics, or circumstances and so forth, we all have a God designed role that not only affects ourselves, but has an impact on others, most of whom we probably will never know.

Therefore, God neatly fits and knits together all of His family such that each and every member plays a role of some kind within their own lives and within Gods plan.  The entire family of God is connected in some fashion.

Each has an energy of measure, which simply means that each person has a different measure of contribution, neither of which is lesser or greater than the other. All are there for Gods intended purpose no matter how great or how small the contribution may seem to us.

And all are tied together by the one and only common thread that connects all believers, throughout all of history, namely Bible doctrine, 'agape,’ which is the content of the scriptures taught by means of Gods instructional design, and learned by all people from the time of Adam, until now and into the future for all of human history.
