Ephesians 4:10
10 He [autos] that descended [katabaino] is [esti] the same also [kai] that ascended up [anabaino]
far above [huperano] all [pas] heavens, [ouranos] that [hina] he might fill [pleroo] all
things. [pas])

who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, that
He might fill all things.) NASB
The one who descended is
the same as the one who ascended. This
is Jesus Christ, who accomplished both descent and ascent.
He went into the lowest
of the lower regions of earth and humiliation, and He ascended above all
aspects of this universe, or all heaven levels that exist in this universe, namely
our immediate planet atmosphere, and outer space beyond that to all of the
stars no matter how far away they are.
This also implies that
there is a place beyond our universe, where our own universe actually ends. Christ ascended beyond our universe into Heaven,
where God actually dwells. Humanity will
never discover the outer limits of our own universe. We exist within its boundaries and beyond
that no one will ever go or see, by means of mans efforts.
And the reason for Christ’s
ascension? Was in order to be able to
fill, cram, complete, furnish, satisfy all of the intended purposes of God for
eternity.
God has a plan. Gods plan originated in eternity past. His plan calls for a phenomenal completion of
not only a universe, but also humanity.
God created the universe,
but has not yet completed it. And by completed we mean furnished, or having put
on the finishing touches. That will occur
in the next universe.
And by that we can know
with a certainty, that since in our current universe, there is a vast amount of
space not only between planets and moons, but between galaxies and such. And just as man is incomplete until he
assimilates doctrine into his soul, and until understanding is developed
followed by wisdom, followed by production and so forth, and then followed by
mans reward.
So too, the next universe
will certainly be far beyond, perhaps both in design and content, our current
universe, which seems to be lacking in many, many areas.
So, you see, there is
going to be a mind blowing set of changes, and they are all made possible
because the same person, descended in humiliation and then ascended in
triumph. And you and I and all believers
are the recipients of that divine achievement.
We did nothing to earn or
deserve any of it.
