Isaiah 1:24

Isaiah 1:24

24 Therefore saith [na'um] the Lord, ['adown] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts, [tsaba'] the mighty One ['abiyr] of Israel, [Yisra'el] Ah, [howy] I will ease [nacham] me of mine adversaries, [tsar] and avenge [naqam] me of mine enemies: ['oyeb]KJV-Interlinear

24 Therefore the Lord God of hosts, The Mighty One of Israel declares, "Ah, I will be relieved of My adversaries, And avenge Myself on My foes. NASB

Man, that is to say, negative man, deals with theories and speculation as to his origins and his destinies. In this way, mankind deals with false truths. Man sees his destiny in technology, in government regulation and solutions to problems. Man legislates management of resources on a national scale or even a world wide scale in order to control economies, in order to preserve environments.  And all of those efforts fail.

Yet man does not know or understand the truths of this universe. Populations continue to grow and liberal thinking of man decides that to conserve is the answer rather than producing more.

Over a century ago the great 'devil' was electricity. It was going to destroy the world. But now it is so common we think nothing about it. Can't imagine how people survived all those centuries without it.

All this does is point out that man does not have control over his destiny, nor even understand it. That regardless of what we do today, our decisions (if God is ignored in the solution) will result in worse problems tomorrow.

The world is full of problems. God is the Lord of Hosts. God deals with realities, and He has to deal with the 'human ox' and the 'human donkey', or some similar phrase which we have already seen in previous lessons. Ok, dummies. That is what God has to deal with, dummies.

God is patient. But sooner or later He eases His burden, relieves His pain so to speak. He sets His policy and deals with people in judgment and discipline. God turns His hand against man and He will judge those who are negative and therefore those who pursue false beliefs and policies.

And yet we have already seen that man is not driven by truth, but by the sin nature, which is tainted throughout with false agendas and lusts galore.

Mans production is diminished.  Mans integrity is compromised.  Mans nobility is non-existent.

The plans of man are numerous, and none will ever be successful.

The plan of God is singular and complete, and advances forward in history, despite mans attempts that screw things up.

The efforts of humanity in wickedness, are inversely related to their spiritual state, and directly related to mans failures.  The more man drifts away from God, the greater their problems become, the worse things get, and the lessening of their spiritual status is revealed.
