2 Timothy 1:6

6 Wherefore [dia] [hos] [aitia] I put [anamimnesko] thee [se] in remembrance [anamimnesko] that thou stir up [anazopureo] the gift [charisma] of God, [theos] which [hos] is [esti] in [en] thee [soi] by [dia] the putting on [epithesis] of my [mou] hands. [cheir]KJV-Interlinear

6 And for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. NASB

Each and every believer, at the moment when they believed in Christ, received a gift, a spiritual gift, which God designed specifically for them.

The laying on of the hands, is our human symbolism of that laying on of a spiritual gift by God, when a person believes in Christ.

No person can do what God does.  We can only go through the motions to symbolize the action.  Just as in the Old Testament, the individual would lay his hands on the head of the sacrificial bull, symbolizing the passing of his sins to the bull who would then die with those sins.

This is also a symbolism of Gods gifts to each and every individual at the moment they believe in Christ.

Receiving gifts from God, then addresses a unique ministry that every person has.  Any given machine has many parts, most of which are not seen, but all do their part for the integrity of the whole machine.  Likewise, the body has many parts, most of which are not seen, but all have a unique and integral part in the function of the human body.

None, then should be embarrassed for their function, no matter what it is.  And consequently, no believer should be embarrassed because of their part in the spiritual life, no matter what it might be.

For this reason, the saving work of Christ, the gift bestowed by God, then each person, should rekindle, renew, continue on in their proper function in the spiritual life that God has given to each.

Embarrassment should never enter into ones mind, no matter what your financial state, no matter what your social status, no matter what your physical circumstances.

God treats each and every believer equally and with great value.  The world finds prejudices and unfair bias in nearly everything.

The world presumes that your flaws are due to your failure, that your successes are due to your efforts, and nothing could be further from the truth.

In Gods eyes, and in truth, all flaws are a result of Satan’s efforts in life, but despite that, God is able to bring everyone into His kingdom, and make everyone a winner in the spiritual life, because the spiritual life is not dependent on anything of this world.  God is greater than this world.

The spiritual life does not mean automatic wealth or success or health or anything in this life.

The spiritual life is a preparation of the soul for the next life, while giving you a stabilizing environment, within your soul, in this life.
