Romans 2:23

23 Thou [hos] that makest thy boast [kauchaomai] of [en] the law [nomos], through [dia] breaking [parabasis] the law [nomos] dishonourest thou [atimazo] God [theos]?   KJV-Interlinear

23 You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law.   ESV

The Law represents the works of man.  The Law was given so that man could know that no one could live by the Law, therefore a Savior was needed.  Unfortunately too many do not see their works as functions of the Law.  Therefore they do not see the dishonor in what they do.

To boast of ones activities, when one ignores Gods requirements, is a huge disrespect of God, and a huge display of arrogance on mans part.

And if you do not know what God expects, then that is a huge admission of your failure in learning Bible doctrine.  One has to study and be taught in order to learn.  And you have to learn in order to know.  And you have to pursue this learning process through a daily study, in order to develop within your spiritual life.

Without a daily study, you have no means of learning what God expects.  You cannot learn on your own nor learn through some form of magic.

Without this spiritual learning process, you will have only the views of the world, and the views of the world are not truth.

No truth is the same as untruth.  Untruth is the same as the lie. To live the untruth is the same as living the lie.  Therefore, to reject the lie, but still live it, is a hypocrisy as well as an insult to truth.

God is truth, and any insult to truth is an insult to God.
