Psalm 34:12
12 What man ['iysh] is he that
desireth [chaphets] life [chay], and loveth ['ahab] many
days [yowm], that he may see [ra'ah] good [towb]? KJV-Interlinear
12
What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? ESV
I find it odd that some,
in their stupidity, say that you should not fear the Lord, when the Bible specifically
mandates that you, fear the Lord. Is a
person smarter than God?
And here we have yet
another question, who among us does not love life? And the obvious answer is that everyone should
love life, because without it, we would not have the opportunity to experience
all that life has to offer. And what’s
more, who would not love a long life?
And yet there are so many
easy opportunities for preparing oneself for a phenomenal eternity, yet people
go to extremes to throw that all away.
Certainly there are
problems in life, but the people who hate life because of their problems, do not
have doctrine in their soul sufficient enough to help them deal with life.
Once you are born in to
this life, you then have the opportunity to prepare yourself for all of
eternity, which by the way is a very long time.
And when you consider eternity and heaven and the fact that life will be
mind boggling beyond even your imagination, then that leaves a huge array of
experiences that we cannot even begin to comprehend.
If your problems are
greater in your mind, such that you want to get out of this life, then your
capacity for life is severely lacking.
Your foresight is severely short.
That means that the doctrine in your soul is likewise lacking. And that means that your daily spiritual
functions are also lacking for some reason.
That reason would most
likely mean that you are not functioning within your spiritual life properly,
which too, means that you are lacking in your understanding of life, of God, of
Christ, of doctrine, of perhaps nearly everything that is important in life.
And who’s at fault for
that deficiency? You, of course.
The objective of all life
is to prepare for eternity.
God did not place us here,
to stay here forever. God placed us in
this life so that we could get ready for the next and greater life. To focus on this life at the expense of the
next life is extreme short sightedness.
Naïve people, in their arrogance,
hate life, hate wealth, hate prosperity, when in fact all of these things are
the epitome of blessing.
In order for you to
complete yourself, then your physical existence needs a relationship with
someone who is eternal, namely Jesus Christ.
Then your carnal
understanding needs to be upgraded with spiritual understanding. That requires a daily study of Bible doctrine.
Then your physical body needs
to be upgraded to a resurrection body.
That will come to all believers in Christ, when the Rapture occurs.
Then your status needs to
be upgraded with Gods evaluation and reward for eternity, which by the way,
comes at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Then, in eternity, in the
new universe, you will finally take possession of that which has been given to
you.
You obviously need to be
prepared so that there will actually be something to take possession of, lest
you end up in eternity with nothing.
Now, who wants to live in
eternity with great wealth and blessing?
Who wants to live in
eternity with nothing?
Who is willing to do what
is necessary, namely a daily study, that will get them prepared for the best of
the best for eternity?
Or, who will talk about
it, but really do nothing?
